Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree required
Experience with taxpreparation and accounting
Experience in public accounting (preferred)
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to professionally engage with clients, verbally and in writing
Proficiency working with a computer and software
Experience with compiled and reviewed financial statements a plus
Experience with Click Up, Engagement, and QuickBooks is a big plus.
Responsibilities
Maintain tax prep priorities, deliverables, and deadlines
Work with efficiency and at times under pressure
Work flexible shifts and meet tight deadlines
Work independently or as part of a team
Train on and adapt to different processes and methods
Duties include but are not limited to workpaper write-ups, obtaining and saving client documents, journal entries, and at times bookkeeping.

Tax preparer job in Pittsburgh, PA
As the Tax Accountant you will be responsible for assisting with Wesco's indirect tax compliance and audits. **_This is a Hybrid designated role which will require weekly onsite reporting to work at either the Glenview, IL or Pittsburgh, PA - Wesco branch location._**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Gather data and compile tax related data from multiple ERP systems to ensure filing obligations are timely and accurately met. Also assist in handling related notices and audits by tax authorities.
+ Develop knowledge of OneSource tax compliance software and coordinate with outside service providers to complete assigned tax forms.
+ Perform tax reconciliations.
+ Research and document positions taken in the tax returns, including preparation of written memoranda.
+ Maintain, update and enhance tax workplans and processes for compliance and financial reporting.
+ Become proficient and utilize current technology/software solutions, such as Alteryx, OneSource and others, to create efficiencies in data preparation and analysis.
+ Monitor developments in tax law specific to your assigned team and assist in implementing changes required to comply and/or adapt to new laws/requirements.
+ Ensure compliance and maintain internal controls under Sarbanes Oxley Section 404 for the tax compliance and planning processes ensuring no significant deficiencies or material weaknesses.
+ Coach, train and mentor junior staff including interns or less experienced Tax Accountants.
+ If assigned to international tax team the following would apply:
+ Assist with analysis and modeling of all aspects of U.S. international taxation, including foreign source income and expenses, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, Section 163(j), and foreign tax credits as required for the income tax provision, tax compliance, and tax planning.
+ Identify and report intercompany transactions for country-by-country reporting and mandatory disclosure requirements.
+ Coordinate with foreign tax and accounting staff to gather and review foreign entity information utilized in the US tax compliance and reporting.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelors Degree - Accounting, finance or related required
+ CPA certification preferred
+ Experience within the tax field (1 year required including internships, 3 years preferred)
+ Knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and practices and their application
+ Knowledge of pertinent tax laws, codes, and regulations
+ Strong analytical skills
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong office and computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
+ Ability to research and analyze a variety of information
+ Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships
+ Assembly of data and preparation of reports

Job Responsibilities
Perform key property tax tasks such as evaluating assessments and tax increases, making timely tax payments, and ensuring that fixed assets are properly added to the property tax compliance software
Prepare personal property tax returns
Prepare state income tax returns and supporting work-papers and document any positions or issues that are relevant in addition to understanding various state tax concepts/regulations
Prepare state income tax payments and review the history of payments and accruals to ensure that appropriate payments are made
Analyze payroll tax notices and issues and prepare responses to those as needed
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax accruals such as property tax accruals and payroll tax accruals
Perform tax research and prepare written correspondence to state tax authorities
Prepare monthly and/or quarterly account reconciliations
Prepare and file sales and use tax returns
Assist Koppers personnel with sales and use tax questions and issues
Assist with specific calculations such as the foreign tax credit, UNICAP, tax depreciation, R&D tax credit, etc.
Act as liaison with external auditors and respond to their questions and requests
Prepare specific forms for the Federal income tax return and analyze necessary trial balance accounts to identify potential adjustments
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, accounting degree preferred
A minimum of three years of corporate tax experience required
Must have strong written, interpersonal, and computer skills
Experience with OneSource Income Tax system and OneSource Tax Provisions system preferred
