Provides juniors & seniors with individualized, one-on-one advising sessions to provide the highest quality guidance and support needed to reach their post-secondary goals. Assists in developing balanced college lists, understanding admission criteria, selecting application types and decision plans, and exploring standardized testing options to optimize their success. Guides juniors through early preparation for college admission, scholarship, and financial aid opportunities with individualized one-on-one advising sessions during the school day. Monitors student progress toward fulfilling Junior/Senior Program and high school graduation requirements to promote student retention. Maintains accurate records of advising meetings and submits detailed summaries for accountability. Handles sensitive concerns with empathy, patience, and professionalism while upholding confidentiality in student records. Collaborates with school counselors, university representatives, and various community organizations to provide additional resources and support. Engages with a diverse student population, including low-income, first- generation, and underrepresented high school students to ensure equitable access to opportunities. Assists with special projects and other assignments as needed to further the program's mission.
