What is this job? The Assistant Teacher is responsible for supporting the lead teacher and classroom team, the day-to-day management of the classroom, ensuring the health and safety of all children at all times and providing engaging and developmentally appropriate activities. What does this job do specifically? Interact with students in a developmental appropriate manner. Accompany students to and from destinations. Provide support to the instructional program, field trips, and student activities. Provide direct supervision to students throughout the day. Work with individual students to reinforce learning of material initially presented by the teacher. Assist with the implementation of the positive discipline policy. Maintain a primary care group and complete developmental screenings and assessments. What experience and education do I need? At least 2 years' experience working in the Early Childhood Education setting.
