POSITION SUMMARY:
The Preschool Teacher position is a year-round key position at the Early Education Center. Preschool Teachers are responsible for educating, supervising, and caring for the children at the EEC. The teacher will implement by instruction and action the center's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. The preschool teacher provides effective instructional techniques for all students in the classroom. The curriculum philosophy for our school encompasses play-based learning, supported with a thematic, web-design lesson planning process that meets the developmental domains and objectives set forth in Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold.
WAGE:
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of Winter Park Resorts hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Teachers have responsibilities and requirements, including but not limited to:
Implements by instruction and action the center's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
Provides effective instructional techniques for all students in the classroom.
To maintain safety and supervision of all children.
To assure compliance of the policies and procedures of the EEC, Winter Park Resort and the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Office of Early Childhood.
Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
Plans a program of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Plans and supervises purposeful assignments for teacher assistants and, cooperatively with supervisor, evaluates their job performance.
Trains in Teaching Strategies Gold, and documents observations and inputs assessments for each child to meet the state set checkpoints.
Trains and implements weekly the Incredible Years program to fidelity based on the Invest in Kids standards.
Assisting the Director/ Assistant Director in keeping accurate attendance records for each child.
Maintain EEC in a clean, orderly, safe condition.
Maintain effective communication with parents and staff.
Attends staff meetings as required
We would prefer that applicants meet education and experiential requirements; however, training opportunities and funding are available. Upon hire, teachers must register and complete classes in a Colorado statewide professional development information system, as well as completion of 15 hours of Continuing Education annually.
All early childhood professionals must complete a fingerprint and child protection background check for Colorado, and any other states they have resided in the last 5 years, as well as any other required classes or trainings pertinent to their job.

Education/Experience:
An EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHER assigned responsibility for a single group of children and working under the supervision of a director must be at least 18 years of age and must meet at least one of the following qualifications:

Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid Model Training certificate of completion; or,
A current professional teaching license issued by the Colorado Department of Education with an Endorsement in the area of Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or Early Childhood Special Education Specialist; or,
A current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level II or higher in Version 3.0 as determined by the Department; or,

Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid
Model Training certificate of completion; or,
Twenty-one (21) months (3,185 hours) of verified experience in the care and supervision of four (4) or more children less than eight (8) years of age who are not related to the individual. Satisfactory experience includes being a licensee of a Colorado Family Child Care Home, a Teacher's Aide or Teacher in a childcare center, preschool, or elementary school. In addition, the individual must either:
Possess a current Early Childhood Professional Credential Level I or higher in Versions as determined by the Department; or,
Complete two (2) three (3) semester credit hour courses from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education with (1) course as either:
Introduction To Early Childhood Professions or has been issued the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; Or, Early Childhood Guidance Strategies for Children or has been issued a Colorado Pyramid Model Training certificate of completion.

Job Title: Teacher/Mentor - Practitioner

SUMMARY
This position is responsible to work with a team to build long-term life-changing relationships with urban youth through various program areas such as in-school, after-school, adventure, advanced leadership - career/college prep, and post-secondary in order to teach in the classroom instruction in character, leadership, and life-skills and engage with the students (outside of the classroom) as a mentor utilizing social/emotional learning.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Establishes and builds trusted mentoring relationships with all students in caseload with the goal of producing positive, life-changes in urban youth and build community leaders.
· Teaching the pre-developed UpLift curriculum and manage the classroom professionally in accordance with the UpLift standards after a training period of 6 months and supporting the school district educational needs.
· Participate, be attentive and present, and arrive on-time to meetings, classes and other organization-sponsored activities/events. Participate and lead in bonding activities consistently with caseload of students. Engage as an integral part of the area team to support the mission and vision of the organization.
· Organize and plan time effectively to be fully prepared to teach classroom lessons, checking emails in a timely manner, and communicating effectively with teammates.
· Handle administrative tasks and record-keeping with strong accuracy related to grading and reporting in consistent and timely manner. Complete Sales Force database entries related to engagement with student contact/activities on a consistent basis with accuracy.
· Serve as positive and inspirational role model and leader for UpLift students by demonstrating behaviors, actions, and skills that accurately represent the UpLift values, character qualities, and mission.
· Responsible for reporting to work as assigned, keeping in line with Colorado UpLift's attendance policy and professionally represent UpLift at school site visits, donor and fundraising events, community service projects, and other UpLift events or functions.

HOURS AND AVAILABILITY:
Staff members must be available Monday through Friday (8-5) for various classroom related activities and teaching 1-2 classes a day. Additionally, there is some availability needed on the weekends for the mentoring aspect of the position in activities that are outside the normal work week. Also, it is probable that there will be a need for consistent availability for after-school mentoring activities 3-5 days a week at various hours (outside of the typical 9-5) depending on the activities or needs of the students. Although there is a great deal of flexibility needed, the organization also recognizes the need for a strong work-life balance and will work with employees to ensure that the workload is effectively shared to provide for enough time off.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Position Purpose:
The part-time Teacher Assistant is responsible for supporting swim teachers with the teaching of classes, management of equipment and the deck. This role plays a significant role in customer service and overall school impression with our swimmers and parents/guardians.
Main Responsibilities as a Teacher Assistant:
Teacher Training
Support Swim Teachers in delivering high quality instruction using FOSS swim school tools, techniques, and mechanisms
Engage teachers by helping manage classes
Answer questions from teachers and parents/guardians
Assist with equipment management and distribution
Create welcoming environment and culture
Pool Safety
Educate on water awareness with teachers, students, and parents/guardians
Maintain FOSS training standards
Support successful class management
Customer Service
Be present in and out of the schools as a FOSS Brand Ambassador
Build relationships with customers to create loyalty and excitement about the Foss Brand Purpose, programming, and community
Facility Care
Upholds facility cleanliness standards
POSITION SPECIFIC TRAINING: We like to make learning fun and have designated training cohorts to set you up for success. These cohorts provide a structured training schedule and allows you to learn and have fun with your team!

Qualifications:
1 year employed at FOSS preferred, not required.
Required to complete the Certified Trainer Program.
Experience in retail, health and fitness, restaurant, or other related experience preferred.
Availability to work days, evenings, and weekends.
Ability to participate in organizational, employee or community engagement events as necessary.
Successfully Complete Position Specific Training.

Speak with others, including children, using clear, professional, and age-appropriate language.
Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 15 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
Review documents, computer monitors or displays with potentially small print.
Operate a computer, handheld device such as an iPad, phone and other common office tools or controls.
Mentally focus on tasks and apply sound reasoning and judgement.
