Teachers attempting to correct certification deficiencies:
Enrollment in a college or university to complete coursework must commence whether the semester the person is employed with UMCH/MBH or the one that immediately follows.
Regular reports outlining progress made toward meeting the requirements of the DRP or Additional Licensure Plan must be given to the Program Director, Administrator and/or the Personnel Records Manager to be added to employee's record and sent to the supervisor of the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE).
Individuals who are completing courses under an approved deficiency removal plan or additional licensure plan must complete the requirements set forth in the additional licensure plan during the three year period following filing of their plan.
If certification is not obtained at the end of the three-year period, the employed teacher will not be issued a contract for the coming school year, and employment with UMCH and/or UMBH will be terminated at the end of the school year. Exceptions to this will only be made if the teacher has written documentation from the Arkansas Department of Education stating reason(s) for non-compliance with the Additional Licensure Plan.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide an instructional program to meet the needs of all students.
Create a classroom environment that provides for student involvement in the learning process and enables each student to achieve learning objectives.
Prepare for class assigned, and show written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior.
Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.

Adhere to the curriculum pacing guide in order to maximize student learning.
Plan for and utilize instructional methods, resources and evaluation techniques, which motivate and enable each student to achieve learning objectives.
Take all necessary and safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and District policy.
Develop reasonable Classroom behavior rules and procedures, and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Make provision for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
Establish relationships with colleagues, students, parents and community which reflect recognition of and respect for every individual.
Participate cooperatively with the appropriate administrator in the evaluation process.
Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree required; field of study correlated to teaching assignment as an elementary teacher with an appropriate licensure code number for these grades. Teachers with experience are valued; however, no prior experience is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of pre-employment background checks. Appropriate personal and professional conduct at all times around students, other staff members and the general public.

Summary of Job Duties:This position offers a flexible PM schedule, offering shifts approximately 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with Saturday hours from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (hours may vary based on clinic needs). This position is ideal for a medical assistant seeking consistent part-time hours and a supportive team environment.
The Medical Assistant, (MA), works under the direct supervision of the clinic physician by assisting in the examination and treatment of patients. The MA will conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The MA will also draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Also prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. The MA may also perform administrative tasks by registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, etc. using the various registrations and scheduling systems.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of the Medical Assistant training program.
Ability to perform point-of-care testing, draw and collect blood specimens, and prepare for laboratory processing.
Preferred Qualifications:
BLS (CPR) Certification.
A minimum of 1 year of phlebotomy and MA experience preferred.
Previous experience in an ambulatory care setting.

Responsible for setting up and assisting the provider with medical procedures and examinations.
Research physicians' orders/accession orders within the Epic environment before submission to the clinical laboratory or appropriate processing center. Collects/records patients' data, acquires patient vital signs, and may utilize skills such as phlebotomy.
Perform additional skills such as EKGs, dressing changes, set up for and assist the provider with procedures and examinations, and administer approved medications per UAMS policy.
Manage the patient appointment schedule by balancing medical needs with patients' timetables.
Greets all patients/customers in professional and courteous manner upon arrival at the clinic.
Performs patient registration/check-out, answers telephones, and performs other office administration duties as required.
May perform other duties as assigned.
