ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Adhere to all regulations as required by the Wisconsin Administrative Code for Child Care Center Licensing.
Assist in implementation, and administration of curriculum and daily activities for the developmental level of the children in order to provide experiences which will promote self-esteem and positive self-image, social interaction, self-expression and communication skills, creative expression, large and small muscle development, intellectual growth and literacy.
Adequately supervise the children and respond appropriately to ensure the safety and well-being of each child.
Provide coverage to teaching staff across age groups within the center; age ranges between 6 weeks and 6 years throughout the year.
During the summer months, 6 weeks to 9 years.
Demonstrate appropriate child guidance to positively enhance the behaviors and development of the children in a way that is free from actions that are psychologically, emotionally or physically painful, discomforting, dangerous or potentially injurious.
Continually monitor and evaluate the progress and behaviors of each child and respond as applicable.
Inform parents of the children's activities, progress, behaviors and incidents via daily conversations and pick up and drop off and written daily reports.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, workshops and conferences.
Regularly perform general housekeeping duties to provide a safe, healthy and productive learning environment for the children.

Assist Parent/Child Center management with administrative support.

Current CPR certification as well as SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome qualifications.

1. Follows the DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers, the YMCA Child Care Policies and the Orientation packet.
2. Assists teachers in carrying out the daily curriculum.
3. Reports any concerns to the staff member in charge.
4. Maintains a safe, orderly environment, which includes housekeeping duties.
5. Assists in meal/snack preparation.
6. Interacts with children at their cognitive level and provides supervision for a safe environment.
7. Before talking to parents about any problems, consults with a staff person in charge for proper delivery to parents.
8. Builds and maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants, volunteers, other staff, and the communities we serve.
9. Acts as a positive role model using the YMCA's core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum age of 18 years old; unless approved course has been taken and passed.
High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Educational qualifications in compliance with DCF Wisconsin Licensing Rules for Group Child Care Centers.
Current CPR/AED certification preferred; required within 30 days of hire.
Must complete and pass fingerprint check.
Must complete a Health Physical and TB test within 30 days of hire.
The ability to appropriately interact with children at their cognitive level.
