SALARY INFORMATION Salary Schedule: This position is based on the 2025-2026 Teacher/SSP Salary Schedule, School Based Positions (Group A) Salary Lanes: D01- D09 Salary Range: $51,510 - $79,867 FTE: 1.0 Hours a day: 8 Days/Year: 187 FLSA Status: Exempt Employees in this category will also receive the following for the 2025-2026 school year:
Non-Recurring Pay: 6% of base salary in Non-Recurring Pay (distributed as 3% on November paycheck and 3% on May paycheck).
Staffing Stability Incentive (Adams Elementary, Galileo Middle School and Mitchell High School):
All Teachers/SSPs (regardless of FTE) will receive an additional $5,000 split over two payments ($2,500 in November and $2,500 in May). NOTE: This is prorated based off of FTE.
Teaching and SSP Staff qualify to receive an additional 10 extra days (beyond the District Calendar), paid at the per diem rate. Five (5) days for USIP design and five (5) days as "collaborative flex" days. NOTE: SSPs receiving extra days (per the Employee Handbook) are only allowed to work a TOTAL of 10 extra days. For example, nurses are allowed to work 3 additional days per the Handbook are only allowed to work an additional 7 days (for a total of 10).
Mitchell High School Only: Teachers/SSPs also receive a one-step increase (paid monthly).
Pay for Performance (Mitchell High School): All Teachers/SSPs receive a Pay for Performance Bonus that is paid out in the fall (utilizing performance measures criteria from the previous year).
Additional 10% to Base Pay for the following Hard to Fill positions: OT, PT, School Nurses, Audiologists, & School Psychologists
Additional 15% to Base Pay for the following Hard to Fill position(s): SLP
Base Salary Setting: Employment, assignment and salary placement, is in accordance with requirements. A work history is required to demonstrate job title, job duties and time worked in the position. Reference the linked How Your Compensation Is Determined for more details.
Base Salary Setting (New Hires): Any newly-employed Teacher/Special Service Provider (SSP) will be placed on the appropriate lane for their educational background (BA, MA, etc). according to the official transcripts that are provided. They will be placed at the appropriate step for experience listed on the resume. Teachers will receive credit for a maximum of 14 years for any applicable teaching experience (provided that the experience occurred in the last 15 years).
Base Salary Setting (Rehires): Returning employees who have previously resigned or separated from the District will be rehired at the same step they were on at the time of resignation/separation plus any new experience gained in the same job, provided step increases were approved by the Board during the years in question . .

If an ESP or Executive Professional employee's hours are decreased to less than 30 hours per week or a teacher's hours decreased to less than 17.5 hours per week, the employee will no longer continue to be eligible to receive the benefits as of the end of the month in which the hours were reduced.
Temporary one-on-one Educational Assistants . Employees in this category who are working at least six hours per day , and have completed two (2) consecutive years of service by July 1st will be changed from temporary status to regular status and will have the same sick leave as a regular status employee.
Retirees Working 30+ Hours/Week or 140 Days: Retirees who satisfy the eligibility requirements of 30 hours or more per week or qualify for one of the District's 140 day slots may be eligible for the 75%/25% or 85%/15% premium share for employee only premium based on the health plan chosen and 70% for all other premium tiers of the plan (employee + spouse, employee + child(ren), and family).
Part-Time Regular Employees are eligible for the following Benefits: Employee Assistance Program and pro-rated sick leave.
ESP and Exec Pro Employees (less than 6 hours a day) and Teachers (working less than 3.5 hours a day): Such employees shall receive pro-rated sick leave, as well as the opportunity to use accumulated sick leave days as personal leave days based on the number of hours worked daily and are not eligible for all available benefits.

This position instructs preschool students ages three to five in a blended preschool setting. The classroom includes students with educational risk factors as well as students with special needs. i. (CHANGE) Kids Chat Program. A ninety-minute session for children and
parents that is based off the evidenced based program of Nurturing Parents,
Community based education for Military Families. The kids chat program will be offered
in the evenings, and weekends at the request of units, to provide support to parents with
a deployed spouse. Separate areas will be set up for parents and for children. Child
discussion areas will be by developmental age groups. Child discussion groups will
have a kinetic activity, and discussion will be focused on thriving while a parent is
deployed. Parent discussion groups will be facilitator led focusing on nurturing
strategies for suddenly single parents due to deployment. We anticipate two classes
each month not to exceed 24 classes in a 12-month period. Supplies to facilitate the
discussion about deployment topics, handouts and resources required for the classes
will be government furnished.
j. (CHANGE) Parents Support Group for Waiting Families. A ninety-minute
session held once a month six times a year that aims to provide support to waiting families, where the family has stayed at Fort Carson while their Soldier spouse has
taken an unaccompanied tour of duty. The Waiting Families support group will be for
parents and their children and will be structured as a play group. Nurturing parents
topics will be introduced in each monthly session to provide parenting tips and
resources for families based on the Nurturing Parents, Community based education for
Military Families. Supplies to facilitate the discussion about deployment topics,
handouts and resources required for the classes will be government furnished.
k. (Change) Parents Children with Special Needs and Health Challenges class
will be offered three times a year and will be coordinated through Child, Youth and
School Services. The curriculum will be based off the nurturing parenting evidenced
based program. Three programs will run throughout a one-year time frame. Audiences
for the classes will target CYS parents and providers and could be taught in an on-
premise CYS facility as appropriate for the sign-up. One class will be offered in
coordination with the FAP Manager during a weekend or evening time frame for parents
with children with special needs. Supplies and workbooks will be government furnished.
Instructors will offer sign-up and assessments to attendees. Contractor will provide
follow-up to parents enrolled through the duration of the class to encourage participation
and attendance.
Identify student needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students
Modify the educational curriculum to best meet the needs of each student
Use a range of instructional methods and learning techniques
Create and enforce classroom rules and procedures
Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records

The Early Educator Apprenticeship Program, offered in partnership with CPCD and Pikes Peak State College, offers participants the skills and practice needed to begin a career in early childhood education. This is a Competency-based Apprenticeship. The term of the apprenticeship is not less than one-year (2,000 On the Job Learning hours) with an OJL attainment of 44 competencies, supplemented by the minimum required 199 hours of related instruction.
Apprentices shall be paid a progressively increasing schedule of wages based on a dollar amount of the current hourly journey worker wage rate.
Apprentice Teacher Assistant will assists teacher in the establishment, planning and implementation of safe, healthy, high quality learning experiences and environments that advances the development of the whole child in partnership with families. Complies with all CPCD policies and procedures, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Care and Education Services. Implements a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills as defined by CPCD's School Readiness Action Plan.

The role may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 25 pounds. In rare and extreme situations, staff at the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) may be required to assist in safely holding a youth for up to 60 seconds.
Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree (from an accredited university or college) in related field required.
CAT/CAS (Addictions Certification) preferred, but not required. Must be willing to obtain within 18 months of hire.
Two or more years related experience and/or training required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Skills or experience in integrated health approaches preferred.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire.
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
Salary Grade 9: $51,000 annually ($24.52/hr)*
