MAJOR FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Educational Services and the Group/Lead Teacher, the Teacher Assistant assists in providing direct early childhood educational services to children between the ages of two (2) months and five (5) years of age.

What you'll be doing at Autism Care Partners:
ACP Early Intervention is looking for a Teacher Assistant at our Bronx Center! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and children on the Autism Spectrum? Then come and join our team of dedicated professionals!
Teacher Assistant
will work under the direct supervision of a Head Classroom Teacher and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team while providing 1:1 instruction in a classroom setting with children ranging from 18 months to 3 years of age.
· Arrive on time and prepare for daily sessions
· Work collaboratively with a Head Classroom Teacher & Educational Director to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA
· Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
· Complete the session notes immediately after the session
· Be responsive to the needs and requests of students, their families, and their supervisor
· Attend Professional Development Training, as required
· Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
· The ability to physically lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
· A high school diploma or equivalent; a college student pursuing a degree in one of the following fields is preferred: Early Childhood Education/ Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Human Services, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
· Experience working with children with developmental delays or in an early childhood setting preferred
· Ability to work closely with children between the ages of 0 - 3yr

Job Overview of Teacher Aide
The Full Time Teacher Aide is responsible for maintaining a safe, predictable and therapeutic living environment for children in care at The Orchard School. The Teacher Aide provides close supervision, counseling, and support to the children during the school day. Ensures that the basic needs of children are met, and that the school is maintained in a safe, orderly, predictable, therapeutic, structured and clean condition; works as part of a multidisciplinary team which includes teachers, certified teaching assistants, support staff, social workers and other professionals.
This position is a 12-month position, schedule based on Orchard School Calendar with mandated six-week summer program.
Hours: 8:00AM-3:45 PM, Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. Wed: 8:00:AM until 5:00 PM
Essential Duties of Teacher Aide
Assists the teacher in planning and preparing for daily instructions.
Supports the teacher in delivering classroom instruction
Supervises children to ensure safety
Is flexible, supportive, and accommodating in crisis or unplanned situations.
Knows and complies with agency standards regarding therapeutic crisis intervention and restraint.
Provides children with appropriate supervision at all times.
Adheres to school programming plan and routines.
Provides guidance and assistance needed to help children maintain their clothing, personal hygiene and personal possessions in a neat, clean, and orderly way.
Remains positively engaged with children at all times, throughout the workday.
Demonstrates understanding of the child's challenges and the role the Teacher Aide plays in the child's treatment plan.
Actively participates in team discussions and cooperates to follow through on plans.
Completes all paperwork requirements clearly, accurately and in a timely fashion.
Actively participates in training opportunities and supervisory discussions.
Attends meetings and trainings as required.
Performs other duties necessary to ensure to smooth functioning of the classroom and school.
Supports overall strategic plan of the organization

Essential Qualifications of Teacher Aide
Minimum of High School Diploma with 3 years of related experience or an associates degree with two years of classroom experience or equivalent
Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
Emotional Intelligence
Ability to access and utilize ADP app on smartphone or other device for access to agency programs
Physical/Travel Requirements of Teacher Aide
Must possess ability to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs and lifts weights of up to 30lbs.
Candidates who are successfully hired, must participate in our Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training which concludes with a written and verbal test, and you will be evaluated on conducting a proper physical restraint.
