Job Summary Position : Guest Substitute Teacher Salary: $35/hour or $245/daily Job Description: Almaden Country Day School is seeking elementary and middle school substitute teachers. Substitutes must have some classroom experience. Core classes include language arts/literature, math, and social studies; specialists teach science, PE, art, music, French, and Spanish. Lesson plans will be available. Schedule: At times, teachers know in advance that they will be absent, and at other times, there is no advanced notice. Substitutes are not expected to be available at all times. Additionally, substitutes are invited to clarify which grades and content areas they prefer teaching. The school day is from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, with substitute teachers' work hours from 7:45 am - 3:15 pm. The Associate Teacher works collaboratively with teaching staff to implement lesson plans, support children's social-emotional development and ensure a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsibilities: Support the Childcare Director in maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Assist with implementation of age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that support children's cognitive, social-emotional, physical and spiritual development. Always supervise children to ensure safety, well-being, and compliance with childcare licensing regulations. Assist with daily classroom routines including arrival, departure, meals, rest time, toileting and transitions. Model positive behavior, appropriate language, and Christ-centered values in all interactions with children and families. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards. Communicate respectfully and effectively with other staff and families as directed. Observe and report children's behavior, needs and progress to the Director. Follow all CityTeam policies, procedures and licensing requirements.
