One class has 11 students with 3 full time teachers. The other class has 8 students with 2 full time teachers. The hours for both of these positions are 9-5:30 Monday through Friday. These are temporary positions. The job begins in January and the program ends May 22, 2026. Duties Teachers operate the classroom in compliance with all Georgia child care licensing standards. S/He ensures that child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic, and consistent with good child development principles. This includes routines related to diapering, hand washing, eating, napping and transitioning between activities. The position also ensures that parents receive adequate information about their child's experiences at the school through daily contacts. The teacher also observes children to detect signs of illness, injury, emotional distress, or other special needs and report these signs immediately. Provide a safe and loving environment for the children in his/her care Change diapers as needed Soothe children by singing to and cuddling them Supervise and engage with toddlers on the floor as they play with age-appropriate toys Supervise toddlers at nap time Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development Ensure the safety and well-being of each child by responding to their emotional, social, and physical needs as well as their educational needs Approach parents daily and speak with them about their child(ren) Enter data into Brightwheel to communicate daily activities with parents Requirements Qualifications A caring individual who enjoys teaching young children Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a group of children alone in a classroom Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents Have an awareness of the unique needs of young children and have appropriate expectations Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 50lbs Be available for employment and available to work the 9:00am-5:30 pm shift Monday through Friday Have dependable transportation Ability to pass a background check Extended periods of time sitting on the floor Ability to work from January through May Must be able to work well together on a team with other teachers Benefits Full benefits package available to all full time employees (Health, dental and vision insurance, 403B with matching percentage, holidays and PTO, and free choice in daily meals).
