Position Summary The WCEL Classroom sub para-educator is an hourly position under the direct supervision of the Classroom Teacher during classes, and the Early Learning Program Manager for reflective supervision and professional development. The schedule for this role will be as follows: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings (typically from 8:30/9-12:30, but dependent on the class being offered that day) Wednesday afternoons (1-2:30, biweekly for team meetings) All staff meetings and trainings, as needed Key Responsibilities: Assist in maintaining indoor and outdoor safe learning environments Set up necessary supplies and materials for learning activities Help create necessary items for learning activities as needed Assist with setup and cleanup classroom program service areas (indoor and outdoor) for all group activities Welcome and assist children and families at arrival and departure times Interact directly with children, parents and families in developmentally appropriate learning activities Welcome and assist student and community volunteers in all programs Clean and vacuum program areas, wash (and sanitize as necessary)dishes and toys, maintain diaper changing stations and launder and fold bibs/towels as needed. Additionally, you must hold a high school diploma, or it recognized equivalent (i.e., GED) and hold one of the following: -Parapro Assessment with score of 455 or higher -A bachelor's degree -An associate degree -Two years of study at an institution of higher ed and at least 48 semester or 72 quarter credit hours completed of post-secondary education from a regionally accredited institution.
