ACP Early Intervention is looking for a Teacher Assistant at our Bronx Center! Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and children on the Autism Spectrum? Then come and join our team of dedicated professionals!
Teacher Assistant
will work under the direct supervision of a Head Classroom Teacher and will be part of a multi-disciplinary team while providing 1:1 instruction in a classroom setting with children ranging from 18 months to 3 years of age.
· Arrive on time and prepare for daily sessions
· Work collaboratively with a Head Classroom Teacher & Educational Director to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA
· Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions
· Complete the session notes immediately after the session
· Be responsive to the needs and requests of students, their families, and their supervisor
· Attend Professional Development Training, as required
· Be goal-oriented and maintain professionalism in all aspects of your work
· The ability to physically lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
· A high school diploma or equivalent; a college student pursuing a degree in one of the following fields is preferred: Early Childhood Education/ Special Education, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Human Services, Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA)
· Experience working with children with developmental delays or in an early childhood setting preferred
· Ability to work closely with children between the ages of 0 - 3yr

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Teacher's Aide will follow all Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) Day Care regulations and policies.

DESCRIPTION:
Nassau BOCES is seeking Teacher Aides for various programs across the Department of Special Education. Full-time positions are available. Responsibilities include supporting the teacher in implementing specialized programs to meet individual student goals and needs. Provide instructional support, classroom organization, data collection, and assist in all tasks of daily living and behavior modification. Daily living skills may include feeding, toileting, mobility, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma. Experience with students with disabilities is highly desired.
SALARY: As per contract.
Full time positions are eligible for medical benefits, as well as other additional benefits to include dental and life insurance. NYS Employee Retirement is also available to full-time employees.
