The teacher is the educational leader in the classroom and will ensure that the Sioux City Community School District programs and curricula are implemented in a way that maximizes student-learning experiences. The teacher is responsible for the supervision and evaluation of all students within his/her teaching assignment. Design and deliver professional development for staff that aligns with building, department, and District goals. Provide a virtual library presence that allows staff and students to access information and library materials at the point of need. Maintain a welcoming physical library space that encourages collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Create and maintain a personal learning community to foster professional growth. Develop and maintain a vibrant library collection of digital and print material that meets the rapidly changing needs of staff and students and complies with district collection policies. Supervise the day-to-day operation of the library. Train and supervise library staff, student workers, and volunteers. Administer the building library budget. Manage the inventory of building library materials/technology equipment and prepare annual reports. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
