The Hight Center provides early care and education to children 6 weeks to age 5. This position will be working with children 6 weeks to age 3 in our Infant/Toddler wing.
Responsibilities:
Working within a team to support children's developmental progress and school readiness
Supporting child assessment
Individualizing for diverse learners
Support the implementation of Creative Curriculum and other curricula
Requirements:
Minimum of one year experience in group care setting with young children
Must be able to meet requirements of agency & State Child Care Licensing regulations for background checks and physical exams
Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication (written & verbal) documentation, critical thinking, basic computer, and group management skills.
Tier I (Starting wage: $16.05/hour):
Must be eligible for Ed Tech II certification from the Department of Education.

Job Description: Pond Cove Elementary School has an opening for a 3rd Grade Teacher (long-term substitute) to cover a maternity leave beginning January 2026 through June 2026. We seek an organized, flexible individual who is capable of forming strong, positive relationships with elementary-age students. Pond Cove is a large elementary school with 550+ students in grades K-4 and 90+ staff. Pond Cove is a high-performing school with expectations of excellence and rigor in all areas of an educator's professional practice.
The successful candidate will join a team of six other third-grade teachers (a total of seven). This role includes planning, designing, and delivering engaging and hands-on lessons and implementing assessments to measure student growth and progress across all curriculum areas, including reading, math, social studies, and science. The position includes covering student recesses and/or lunches, attending staff meetings twice a month (on Wednesdays), and collaborating with a large number of colleagues, including school social workers, school counselors, special educators, extended learning coaches, and building principals.
Certification Requirements: Maine Elementary Teaching (020)
