Duties
Develop, plan, and deliver an age-appropriate curriculum aligned with Florida Standards.

Supervise and mentor assistantteachers / aides in the classroom. Provide guidance, support, and direction.
Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized classroom environment. Ensure the classroom is set up with developmentally appropriate learning centers.
Observe, assess, and document each child's growth and development. Identify milestones, learning needs, and provide interventions as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, participate in parent-teacher conferences, respond to parent questions or concerns.
Ensure compliance with all state licensing, program requirements, health safety regulations (including CPR/First Aid, background checks, etc.).
Maintain accurate records: attendance, incident/accident reports, developmental assessments, lesson plans, etc.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, workshops, and training to stay current on best practices in early childhood education.
Collaborate with center leadership and other teachers to support overall program quality, including contributions to enrollment, retention, and center goals.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year in childcare space preferably in a toddler room
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a nurturing disposition.
Physical Qualifications:
Ability to move around the classroom frequently, assist with children, sit/kneel/squat.
Ability to lift and carry children or materials (up to regulatory limits).
Stand for extended periods; interact actively in play and learning.
Nice To Haves
Florida's teacher credential requirements (this may include VPK Certification, DCF 45-Hour training, or equivalent).
Previous experience teaching preschool or VPK, with demonstrated experience leading a classroom.
Strong knowledge of child development principles and Florida standards.

The primary functions of the TeacherAssistant are to provide program assistance for teachers of the 21st CCLC Program with the primary concern for service delivery, lesson plans, and academic and personal enrichment activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Effectively implement and administer Learning Center programs, activities, and services that prepare students for
success and create a learning environment that facilitates achievement of academic and personal enrichment
outcomes;
· Provide effective Learning Center supervision to promote and stimulate program engagement with students;
· Act as a role model and provide guidance to all students;
· Support program teachers during academic and personal enrichment programs;
· Implementing the Teacher's lesson plans and maintaining daily classroom schedules;
· Supporting each child's social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development;
· Ensuring the wellbeing and safety of children at all times;
· Using a variety of instructional and assessment strategies, as directed by the Teacher, to meet individual student needs;
· Assisting students with assignments or difficult concepts;
· Maintaining communication with parents, staff, and faculty regarding the progress of students.

QUALIFICATIONS
BACKGROUND SCREENING
Must submit to and pass Level 2 background screening through the Florida Department of Children & Families.

Certifications
Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Previous work experience with youth, preferably in an afterschool or summer enrichment program.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
Experience working with children strongly preferred
Basic understanding of childhood development and steps to support children of various ages
Ability to effectively communicate with teachers and parents regarding student's progress and behavior
Strong organizational skills are essential to aid in preparing materials for several daily lesson plans
Personal accountability and patience are essential when working with children daily in a classroom environment
Ability to prioritize activities quickly and support the teacher in instances that are exceptionally busy
Basic writing, math, and science skills are necessary to assist in teaching students and answering their questions

Some travel may be required for training and/or other business purposes.

Our offices, neighborhood clubhouses, and school-based clubs are fast-paced work environments and are strategically located in areas of St. Lucie County where youth need us most. Based on the organization's needs, flexibility to work different schedules and work in different locations in St. Lucie County is required due to changing business demands.
