Supports the development of children's positive self-concept and social skills through the promotion of cultural and ethnic acceptance and experiences. Provides direct supervision to children at all times; maintaining child/staff ratios in accordance with policies and regulations. Supports teacher in maintaining accurate classroom attendance, assuring the sign in/out sheet corresponds with the number of children in the classroom at all times. Provides information to Family Advocate of any known reason for child absence. Participates with children at mealtimes, including breakfast and lunch, ensuring family-style dining is implemented. Assists with documenting parent participation in center activities. Assiststeacher in completing two individualized home activities each month per child and provides toparents. Assists in the recruitment of children for the program. Participates in community activities that enhance the Head Start program as requested. Assists in maintaining appropriate documentation required by USDA/Child Care Food Program and ensures quality of data and timelines for completion. Actively participates in center/classroom activities, parent meetings and annual parent activities as requested. Acts as an advocate and role model for Head Start families. Recruits children for the program. Assists in the development and implementation of the annual training plan, including pre- service, in-service, T/TA, and ongoing training requirements. Attends and actively participates in training programs, staff meetings, and other meeting/trainings. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff and agency information. Maintains effective working interaction with coworkers and outside contacts that will enhance the operation of the Head Start program. Organizes and prioritizes all assignments as directed. Participates in community activities that enhance Head Start programs as directed. Demonstrates proficiency and application in the learning environment of the CLASS (Classroom Assessment Scoring System). Participates in ongoing monitoring, Community Assessment and Self-Assessment and performs reasonable related functions. Participates in regular safety, storm and fire drills. JOB STANDARDS:
Education: Minimum requirement of High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must enroll at 90 days of hire to complete Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential with 9 months. Once the CDA program is complete must enroll to complete Associate Degree within 2 years.
Experience: No experience required.
Licenses & Certifications: Valid Florida driver's license and be insurable by Company's current insurance
carrier. Subject to federal, state and local legal requirements/background checks.

Physical Requirements: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. How you will make an impact
The incumbent of this position works as an Instructional Assistant in a state-mandated academic program.
* Assists classroom teacher with classroom instruction, redirection of students who are off-task, behavior management, role playing, planning and preparation for field trips and special events, recordkeeping, attendance, and grading classwork. Develops learning materials for students (independently or as directed by the classroom teacher). Supervises students during school time, lunch time, recess time, and before and after school hours. Writes and submits student occurrence reports to the assistant principal on significant occurrences. Substitutes and maintains the instructional momentum of the program in the absence of the teacher. Assists students in understanding and completing classroom assignments. Provides remedial assistance to students having difficulty achieving objectives in their specific subject areas. Provide tutoring for high-risk students who have been identified below grade level performance and/or below average test scores in language, reading, math, and/or science.
Assists students with special homework assignments and projects.
Become familiar with current textbooks and learning materials used by students.
This position helps members make appropriate choices about their education, career, social, physical, and emotional needs related to educational goals. The position also assesses the youth's developmental needs, interests, and characteristics to develop targeted programs that result in an outcome-driven club experience.
Ensure programs, services, and activities prepare youth for success, promoting the safety of members, quality in programs, and appearance of the Club at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:
Planning and organizing a range of program services and activities for members, such as field trips, program-specific activities, guest speakers, field trips, etc.
Initiating new programs with the approval of the Program Director/Unit Director.
Promoting and stimulating program participation.
Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests, and participating in weekly Club staff meetings.
Participate in local, state, regional, and national Boys & Girls Clubs education programs and competitions.
Health and Safety
Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in the program area.
Maintain the cleanliness of the program area.
Maintain an inventory of program equipment and supplies in good order. Recommend requisitions as necessary.
Program Administration
Prepare weekly reports for the Program Director/Unit Director regarding activities, special programs, upcoming events, attendance, and other reports as required.
Maintains a daily written schedule. Ensures that programs begin and end on time.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
May participate in additional special programs and/or events.
Other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with club staff and volunteers, club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct, and advise/counsel.

All Tutors at GradePower Learning work during after-school hours Monday-Thursday from 2pm-7pm, however, you do not need to work all of these hours to be considered. A commitment until the end of the 2024/2025 school year is preferred. eYour students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available.
A background check is mandatory.

Education:
Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field
University students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification an asset
Good knowledge of the current 6th-12th grade curriculum
Experience:
Some experience teaching/tutoring at a 6th-12th grade (or equivalent) level
Strong English written and oral communication skills and ability to guide students' understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities (Position Details):
You will work directly with students as an Interactive Coach with the following responsibilities:
Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels
Teaching online and in-person
Following the GradePower Learning methodologies and philosophies
Filling in post-lesson notes
Completing daily student communication updates
Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
