EXETER-WEST GREENWICH REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT CLASSIFICATION: Instructional Teacher Assistants Special Assignments Pay Grade 3 REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services, Principal, and designated teachers This is a paraprofessional work of an instructional and personal care nature in a classroom setting with individuals or small groups of students who have pronounced physical and/or emotional disabilities or are learning disabled. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting a teacher in carrying out a daily education program. Teacher Assistants assist the classroom teacher in the delivery of educational and/or behavioral interventions for special education students. Due to the varied and individual needs of each student, Teacher Assistants may provide a variety of support and assistance and should be flexible in adjusting to students' needs.
