Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and expertly teach courses that challenge students, support diversity, and demonstrate a strong commitment to their success with the highest standards for each individual.

Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree (master's preferred) in a field of study in or related to Science.
A minimum of two years of teaching and training experience at the middle, high school, or college level.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience teaching the craft of writing and research within the discipline.
A readiness to explore innovative teaching strategies and formats. Capability to implement differentiated learning and instruction as needed.

What Youll Do
Deliver RAFTs engaging STEAM curriculum, adapting activities as needed to maximize camper participation and excitement.
Lead a classroom of up to 24 campers and coordinate activities for larger groups (up to 200 students), ensuring a positive, collaborative, and well-managed environment.
Complete at least 9 hours of onboarding, professional development, and staff meetings before camp begins.
Keep classrooms clean, organized, and welcoming by modeling and encouraging good habits of tidiness.
Work with minimal supervision from the Site Director while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Participate in after-camp debrief sessions and surveys to share feedback and support continuous improvement.
Provide guidance and support to 12 staff members assisting with learning activities.

Maintain and model a clean, well-organized, and safe indoor and outdoor classroom environment.
Ensure the health and welfare of children and staff is maintained at all times.
Ensure Classroom compliance with policies and procedures as they relate to health and safety to include but not limited to mealtime, medication administration, allergies, daily health inspections, ratios, etc.
Ensure implementation of monthly fire drills, earthquake drills, lock down drills, and annual disaster drills.
Report safety hazards and injuries immediately to Site Director and ensure proper paperwork is competed in a timely manner.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
General knowledge of childcare including federal, state and local laws and regulations governing childcare and safety; knowledge of sound techniques in all aspects of child care and development.

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

BA or higher (does not have to be in ECE/CD) with 12 units ECE/CD, plus 3 units supervised field experience in ECE/CD setting.
Must maintain an active permit, which requires completion of a minimum of 105 hours of professional growth every five years.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push, pull, and turn body quickly and get up and down from ground level frequently throughout the day.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must provide transcripts of college courses prior to beginning employment.
Must be fingerprinted, complete a Child Abuse Index Check form, and be criminally cleared prior to beginning employment.
