Job Summary:
The classroom teacher will lead students toward the fulfillment of their potential by translating the district curriculum standards and objectives into meaningful learning experiences through classroom instruction and indirectly through special area assignments. This is a part-time, non-exempt/hourly position requiring a minimum of 20 hours per week, with occasional opportunities to work additional hours based on school needs.
You will work a four-hour shift, Monday through Friday, totaling 20 hours per week. Specific school schedules are determined by school leaders when considering all staff, classroom, and community needs and are as follows:
Mesa - Adobe Hills: 11:00am - 3:00pm
The full compensation range for this position is $19-$22per hour. The starting pay for all new employees is $19 per hour.
Benefits include paid sick (care) time accrued based on hours worked, and a 401(k) plan with a 4% employer contribution match.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Age 18 with high school diploma or GED
Six or more months of prior work experience in childcare, education, or a related setting
Ability to pass background checks, clear tuberculosis screenings, and (upon hire) successfully complete trainings required by the state of Arizona to supervise children independently
Ability to independently supervise, communicate effectively with, and care for young children safely, including ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs

Purpose and Scope
Under the general supervision of the principal, the teacherassistant will assist the classroom teacher in the supervision and instruction of students. The teacherassistant is responsible for providing a well-organized, smoothly functional class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource material.

Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, and outdoor play
Assists in the classroom setup, clean-up, and materials preparation
Assists in arrangement, maintenance, cleanliness, and security of the classroom
Assists in food service and supervises children at meals:
Receives food and set up snacks/lunch
Maintains a clean environment for food service area
Establishes good rapport with children
Assist the teacher to work with individuals and groups of students
Utilizes respectful individual and responsive caregiving practices with students
Throughout class time actively engages children in meaningful learning activities and experiences
Assists with the implementation of health, emergency procedures, and first aid
Immediately reports witnessed accidents to the supervisor
Prepares a written report stating the date, time, nature of the accident and action taken
Attends meetings and in-services as required by the Principal
Communicates appropriately with parents and staff and refers all parent questions and concerns pertaining to students to the teacherAssists parent volunteers in the classroom
Treats confidential information about students, staff, and school affairs in a professional and ethical manner
Establishes and maintains cooperative, supportive, and effective relationships with all school and parish personnel
Must be punctual and on time for work
Performs other related duties as assigned and demonstrates the ability to be flexible and carry out duties

Your role as a Montessori Teacher, Teaching Teams, and families requires that you:
- Be committed to setting the standard for high-quality early childhood education at every level--and specifically the Montessori Method.
- Know and understand culturally responsive techniques to education, and implement them whenever possible.
- Prepare the classroom environment true to the Montessori Philosophy, which includes materials and equipment, and ensures that all materials are in good repair and all sets are complete.
- Plan and implement the Montessori curriculum and Amici Trilingual Montessori's enrichment curriculum as it supports the multicultural classroom. Update curriculum as student needs dictate.
- Participate in the process to achieve and maintaining AMS membership.
- Monitor, record and plan lessons according to each individual child's developmental milestones related to body, mind, communication, and self.
- Establish positive and effective communication and relationships with families. Be available to parents through written communication, setting up conferences, and creating positive partnerships with families as it pertains to the Spondeo Montessori Culture.
- Serve as the main point of contact for all assistantteachers in the classroom.
- Be able to communicate effectively with center director(s).
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, loving, and nurturing environment for all children.
