Singleton Preschool is currently seeking enthusiastic and passionate educators for a rewarding position as Assistant Preschool Teacher. Singleton Preschool is a traditional preschool that provides a safe, developmentally appropriate and community-centered learning environment for students ages 2-5. Works under the direct supervision of the Lead Preschool Teacher and the Programs Manager to assist in instructing children in activities needed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth needed for primary school.
Job Functions:
Assists in the daily planning and execution of all classroom activities.
Helps organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music and storytelling.
Assists in teaching basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills.
Assists in maintaining discipline in a preschool classroom in line with Singleton Preschool's Education goals.
Assists in keeping the classroom visually appealing, such as bulletin boards, displays, etc.
Assists with all facets of preschool special events/activities, including working some nights and/or weekend dates.
Other duties as assigned from higher management.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be a high school graduate or have GED.
Must love children and be able to relate to them.
Must have experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting.
Some college education courses and prior teaching experience is required.
Training and Experience:
Ability to help plan, organize and implement activities for preschool children while maintaining order.
Ability to recognize problems, identify their potential effect and develop alternative strategies for preventing or solving them.
Ability to function independently, attend to detail, work under pressure and multi-task.
Special Requirements:
* Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification or must obtain within 6 months.
* Must pass a background screen, driver's license verification and physical exam, including a drug test.
