TITLE: Special Ed Paraprofessional QUALIFICATIONS: Certified Para Professional, 48 hours college credit, or must pass Paraprofessional test. Demonstrates aptitude for successful completion of assigned task REPORTS TO: Principal and Special Ed Teacher JOB GOALS: To help provide a smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. PAY GRADE: Refer to the Support Salary Schedule PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists teacher in educational process of the special needs students. 2. Assist students to and from buses. 3. Monitor student if in isolation. 4. Eats with students during lunch. 5. Goes out to recess with students when needed. 6. Takes students to and from bathroom. 7. Works with students one on one for tutoring. 8. Assist regular teacher with grading papers. 9. Assists with maintaining classroom materials. 10. Assists wheelchair and physically handicapped student loading and unloading the bus. 11. Assists physically handicapped students getting to other classes. 12. Assists physically handicapped students with their feeding and toilet needs. 13. Assists special education students in mainstreamed classes when needed. 14. Assists with duplicating needed materials and helping with special education forms when asked to do so. 15. Helps with bulletin boards. 16. Takes over the special education class when the teacher is absent. 17. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal or teacher may assign from time to time. Title VI Teacher Assistant Reports to: Title VI Director, Curriculum Director, and Building Principals Supervises: N/A Qualifications: 48 Hours College Credit OR Passing Score on Paraprofessional Test High School Diploma or Equivalent Job Goal: Facilitates implementation of Title VII services at the school site. Typical duties may include: Demonstrates understanding of student's problems and is courteous and fair. Demonstrates initiative and creativity with students and the Title VII program. Provides academic support to ensure student success in school under the guidance of teachers. Provides tutoring for targeted students in reading and math under the guidance of teachers. Maintains progress records on all students tutored. Attends conferences for Indian students related to academic performance as needed. Attends other school functions as needed. Keeps records as needed for compliance with program requirements. Completes the 506 forms at respective school sites. Counsels with students who are in danger of failing or dropping out of school and refers these students to appropriate agencies for additional support. Works with school principals, counselors, and teachers to support and facilitate positive teacher-pupil interaction and teacher-parent support. Provides feedback to parents, teachers, and administrators regarding possible problem situations. __Refers all concerns to the appropriate administrator. Makes home visits to Indian students' homes as necessary. Determines parent cost needs of Indian students and refers students or parents to the appropriate resources for assistance. Assumes other duties that arise as the program develops such as serving as a resource person on cultural issues for classroom teachers. Assists with all Title VII activities as needed. Complies with all Board of Education policies and procedures. Performs all other tasks as supervisor may assign.

Must be Oklahoma certified. is for the 2024-2025 school year. Special Education Mild Moderate.
