As a Teacher, you'll:

Follow all licensing guidelines and company standards to ensure the daily care of every child. Develop your ability to accurately observe, assess, and plan for children, as well as effectively communicate with families. Complete extensive training that provides insight on child care and development topics. Implement proprietary curriculum while creating fun, interactive learning experiences.


We want energetic, dependable, passionate individuals who are at least 18 and have:

Experience in a licensed child care center or related field. Completed a high school diploma or equivalent 45 Hours The ability to meet state requirements for education and additional center requirements Able to work indoors or outdoors and engage in physical activity with children

Plan for individual and group activities to stimulate growth in language, social, and other skills. Participate in training and in-service activities. Administer and interprets testing to determine academic needs. Develop and uses a variety of teaching techniques. Produce lesson plans that reflect the individual educational needs of students. Prepare reports in compliance with school guidelines. Maintain progress notes, attendance records, and grade scores in a timely manner. Other essential duties as needed. Candidates may have the opportunity to teach in specialized subjects Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.
Additional Information

Small Class Sizes to allow more one on one attention to individual students and their educational needs. The standard Youth Villages class size ranges from 8-15 children.

Requirements
Currently enrolled in Teacher Prep Program or has obtained b achelor's degree with endorsement in the grade/subject with a valid Tennessee License If currently licensed out of state, must obtain TN licensure with grade/subject endorsement within 90 days after the first day of employment Experience working with at-risk youth a major plus Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously Basic computer knowledge

Availability:
Before School Program: 6:30-8:00 After School Program: 3:00-6:00 Total Hours a Week: 22 1/2 hours


Experience:
Experience teaching or executing before and after school programming, youth development, and/or park district programming Proven ability to build relationships with families, clients (i.e. school staff), and supervisors Committed to outstanding customer service skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and manage multiple situations effectively Must have strong leadership and conflict resolution abilities Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds, work indoors or outdoors, assume postures in low levels to allow physical and visual contact with children, as well as see and hear well enough to keep children safe Computer literacy and well-developed technology skills Superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
