This is a part-time to semi-full-time position and is somewhat seasonal. Pay for all Areas of Business (AOB) is hourly - including set-up and clean-up time. Starting pay is $22.50-$30 per hour DOE. We are currently looking for energetic individuals to join our growing team to conduct exciting science, engineering, and technology programs during after-school and morning time slots. You do NOT need to be a certified teacher (although we love that!).
Responsibilities:
Facilitating day camps, in-person workshops, and after-school science enrichment programs for children from preschool through elementary school
Deliver high-energy, part entertainment, part education, and hands-on programs that meet for one hour each week for approximately 8-10 weeks.
Drive to various locations across Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.
Enjoy teaching young children the art of science!
Attend paid training sessions at our office.
Attend the mandatory Friday Staff Meeting every week (paid).
Be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Be on time for all scheduled activities.
Adhere to strict safety and cleanliness guidelines.
Qualifications:
Some experience working with groups of elementary-age (4-12) children (such as an after-school teacher or camp counselor).
Must be available at least three weekdays during programming hours (which vary). While this is a part-time position, it is critical that you are able to commit to the length of any given program (camp session, after-school program, etc.), and that you are able to give us steady weekly availability.
Must have a reliable car as you will be driving to locations in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. New hires will be required to provide proof of valid insurance.
All employees must: complete a DOJ/FBI background check that must come back clear, and submit a current negative TB Test
