Essential Duties: (perform these duties independently with minimal supervision)
Necessary Physical Abilities:
Lifting and/or carrying throughout the day, many times a day, on a daily basis (classroom materials, food items/food trays, children) approximately 30 pounds.
Pushing, moving or lifting, occasionally (classroom furniture) approximately 10 pounds.
Sitting, frequent up and down movement, sitting at different levels such as the floor and on child height chairs (approximately 12 inches from the ground).
Reaching, throughout the day, many times a day, on a daily basis to get materials out of cabinets, display materials on walls, can be aided by a step stool.
Manual dexterity, daily, for writing and assisting or modeling the completion of artwork with children such as cutting with scissors, gluing, drawing, painting, and manipulating puzzles and blocks.
Accompanying children on walks or to outdoor play areas, daily.
Supervising classroom activities for 8 to 10 hours per day requiring frequent activity and motion.
Participating in children's music and movement activities such as hopping, jumping, skipping, and walking throughout an 8 to 10 hour workday.
Eating school meals with children.
Necessary Visual Abilities:
Observation of children in indoor activities, on playgrounds, field trips, and other outdoor activities.
Necessary Auditory Abilities:
Ability to hear classroom activities and respond appropriately.
Ability to answer telephone and to place telephone calls.
Necessary Mental Abilities:
Reading comprehension measurable at the 12th grade level.

Ability to supervise and keep safe a group of children (as per mandated ratios).

Ability to make quick decisions and intervene in situations involving child discipline, health and safety.

For Children:
Observations on newly enrolled children within 45 days of start date and twice yearly for every child enrolled in class.
Individualizes activities, goals, and interactions with children based on their developmental needs.
Responsible for delivering services to a group of children and their families, consistent with the programming of Kid Biz LLC.
Helps each child to know, accept, and take pride in him/herself.
Supports the social development of children by helping them learn to get along with others and by encouraging feelings of empathy and respect among children and adults.
Promotes an environment in which children can learn and practice behaviors which are acceptable and appropriate, individually and in a group.
Provides opportunities for children to understand, acquire and use verbal and nonverbal means of communicating thoughts and feelings.
Interacting with children as much as possible during free/center time - engaging and encouraging individual and group activities.
For Parents:
Demonstrates commitment to the company's parent involvement philosophy.
Demonstrates respect and sensitivity to the social environment of families.
Encourages and supervises parent involvement and participation according to program guidelines.

For The Classroom:
Uses space, materials, and routines as resources for constructing an interesting and enjoyable environment for exploration and learning.
Uses a variety of equipment, activities and opportunities to promote the physical development of children.
Encourages activities and experiences that develop questioning, probing, creativity, exploration and problem solving.
Maintaining classroom pets (where applicable) - food, water, cleaning cages/aquariums, etc.
Using and implementing sand and water tables at least 3 times per week.
Outside activities for all age groups at least once daily (preferably twice) when weather permitting.
For Health and Safety:
Ensures the health and safety of children in the classroom, outdoor play areas, and on field trips.
Conducts classroom health and safety activities such as fire drills, reporting staff and child accidents, and using universal precautions. Ensures that all classroom staff model procedures such as trying new foods and hand washing.
Provides a clean and safe environment in the center by following daily chores lists and regular bleaching schedules.
Promotes good health, safety, nutrition and cleanliness by setting a good example.
Bleaching toys on a regular, planned basis.
Light cleaning including wiping down shelves and chairs on a daily basis and tables repeatedly throughout the day.
For Social Services:
Helps families locate needed social services and help them make arrangements.
For Program Administration:
Meets required deadlines, this includes, but not limited to lesson plans turned in to Director on a weekly basis. These must be posted in your classroom.
Plan and implement activities on a daily basis according to the company's curriculum guidelines.
Completing on a daily basis all necessary paperwork including attendance sheets and food sheets.
Demonstrates knowledge of pertinent regulations such as Department of Human Services Child Care Licensing and Pennsylvania Keystone STARS standards.
Develops contacts with local agencies and community organizations.
Assists in supervising other teachers in the classroom.
Ensures an effective program by managing available resources through planning, organizing, record keeping and assessment.
Participation in family events, including open house, conferences, luncheons, etc.
For Communication:
Coordinates the classroom program with other staff and the Director.
Communicates effectively with staff, parents and children.
Completing on a daily basis all necessary paperwork including daily logs, message boards, and 'Look What We Did Today' boards.
Accepts direction and feedback and makes necessary changes.
Shares ideas and strategies.
Demonstrates teamwork.
Pays attention to detail in job tasks.
Works as a team member with other Kid Biz LLC employees.
For Program Leadership:
