ROLE of the POSITION The University of Nevada, Las Vegas College of Education (COE) is offering a postdoctoral opportunity housed in the Department of Teaching and Learning to support a three-year research project to understand how different teacher-preparation pathways prepare individuals for the profession. The project, funded through a grant from the Hewlett Foundation, will include the collection and analysis of data from both current students and program alum focused on their perceptions of their efficacy in the classroom, their preparation to implement effective practices, and their implementation of these practices in the classroom across time., The selected candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigators to further the aims of the project. Specifically, the postdoctoral researcher will focus on quantitative and qualitative data collection coordination, participant recruitment, research activities, evaluative work, research reporting, and overall project coordination. PROFILE of the OFFICE OF POSTDOCTORAL AFFAIRS (OPA) The mission of the UNLV Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) is to enhance and support postdoctoral training and career development; serve as the central resource office for postdoctoral questions and issues for faculty, supervisors, mentors, and prospective and current postdocs; build a community for all UNLV postdocs; and provide professional development programs and networking events for postdocs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a PhD or EdD in Education, or a relevant field, from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and experience with research methods and evaluation. Knowledge of research and evaluation methodologies, demonstrated ability to write research reports, ability to coordinate participant recruitment and payments, as well as other project-related activities, is required.
