Carlow University is currently accepting applications for the full-time Teacher position in our Campus Lab School's Early Leaning Center. Reporting to the Director of the Early Learning Center, the teacher works collaboratively with co-teachers to manage their classroom. They maintain the safety of the children, implement the daily program, communicate with parents, and provide direction and oversight to student workers in the room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Treat children with love and respect. Must use positive guidance techniques.
Must be able to see, hear, direct, and assess the activity of the children at all times.

Plan and implement daily program utilizing DAP theory as outlined by NAEYC and the Creative Curriculum.
Maintain daily communication with parents and participate in parent/teacher conferences.
Maintain knowledge of and implement the guidelines and standards set by NAEYC and Keystone STARS accreditation.
Complete periodic child assessments using the Teaching Strategies: GOLD system for child development, share this information with parents, and participate in conferences with parents about their child's development as requested.
Implement Early Intervention strategies as outlined by relevant support staff.
Supervise work study students, field placement students, and volunteers.
Maintain a professional manner in the classroom when working with colleagues, parents and children.
Maintain and implement knowledge of current state licensing regulations.
Maintain a safe and clean environment for the children and other teachers.
Continue professional development (required 24 hours per year) and keep abreast of current issues by reading professional journals.
Attend meetings and trainings as requested by the Director.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director or Executive Director.
Complete closing/opening duties as needed.
Maintain a consistent work schedule and ethic, arriving on time and working an entire shift.
Demonstrate and reflect an understanding of and commitment to the mission and core values of the University and the Sisters of Mercy.
MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL REQUIRED:
CDA, Associates, or bachelor's degree in ECE or related field and 1 year of related experience.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
1 year experience working with children (experience working specifically with infants and toddlers preferred)
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must meet all DHS requirements: Current (within one year) Act 33/34 and FBI fingerprint clearances, NSOR clearance, current physical and TB test, two letters of recommendation, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certified.

* Applies broad guidelines to specific coding situations, independently utilizing discretion and a significant level of analytic ability.
* Ability to analyze information, make decisions and exercise independent judgement.
* Serves as the subject matter expert with regards to diagnosis and procedure codes, coding guidelines, medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, reimbursement schemes, payer specific guidelines, public reporting of outcomes, quality of patient care outcome measures, and the interpretation of coded data as it relates to revenue cycle compliance.
* Participates in problem identification, performs root cause analysis and recommends a solution to Coding Management.
* Assists with development and maintenance of software system workflow for standardization and maximum efficiency.
* Oversees system testing with regards to any published software updates or software functionality changes
* Identifies template variation within the EMR that has a negative impact on coding edits/errors.
* Escalates trends and makes recommendations for template revisions/standardization to FAIS HIM team and Coding Leadership.
* Coordinates all testing efforts with coding superusers and FAIS teams.
* Assists with annual verification of coding staff credentials.
* Orients new physicians with regards to the coding department's role in the revenue cycle, and prepare training material for coding related to physician education.
* Assists with identification and implementation of process improvements according to industry best practice standards to make the best use of resources, decrease costs and improve coding services across the specialized service lines.

The Children's School offers model preschool and kindergarten programs for approximately 72 children ages 3-6 years. Our program runs from September through mid-May, with the option of a half-day summer camp in June.

This position develops, prepares, and facilitates education programs, tours, encounters at the International Conservation Center, located in Somerset, PA, and in surrounding communities.
Essential Job Functions:
Develops, prepares and conducts on site, virtual, and off site education programs and events including school programs, after-school and weekend programs for families and individuals, outreach programs, overnights, seasonal community events, and other programs and activities;
Delivers educational components of animal encounters, wagon tours, and guided tours as needed;
Develops, prepares, and conducts outdoor and nature-based educational activities for community, scout, and school, and group programs at the International Conservation Center;

Strong organizational and time management skills are required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the proven ability to work independently and with a remote and in person team to create and deliver programming. Demonstrated proficiency with computer software programs, presentation skills and attention to detail are required. Knowledge of wilderness first aid a bonus.
Valid Pa driver's license and good driving record is required, along with FBI Clearances, Act 33 and 34 clearances. Position may be physically demanding, including walking, traveling in and operating off road vehicles, off trail hiking, and has to lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements:
This position works primarily indoors and also works outdoors in all weather conditions; must be available some nights, weekends and holidays as needed. Some travel may be required.
