Duties/Essential Functions:
Conduct small group and one-on-one tutoring sessions with students using literacy materials provided by DECA PREP
Assist children to improve their reading skills and abilities to reach grade level expectations.
Build a strong rapport with students and communicate with them in an age and developmentally appropriate way
Regularly review student data to gauge the effectiveness of the literacy intervention being used and determine if a change in strategy is necessary
Establish and maintain effective communication with parents, teachers, tutors, building leadership, and other key stakeholders to ensure the success of the program
Act on feedback and coaching from Instructional Coaches, Classroom Teachers, and Building Administrators
Ensure confidentiality of all student records and diagnostic scores
Assess, with a high level of accuracy, students' continual progress through progress monitoring and benchmarking
Document students' weekly progress scores and interventions using an online database system

Education and Training:
