    The teacher is the educational leader in the classroom and will ensure that the Sioux City Community School District programs and curricula are implemented in a way that maximizes student-learning experiences. Organizes and presents instruction in an instructional environment which helps students learn the subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Collaborate with building technology coach to model effective and creative strategies for integrating technology in the curriculum across all content areas. Provide opportunities to connect staff and students with communities of learners locally, nationally, and internationally. Provide information and instruction to staff and students in the areas of instructional technology, information literacy, the Inquiry process, Acceptable Use Policy, cyberbullying/online behavior, copyright, and intellectual property. Collaborate with teachers in preparation, presentation, and evaluation of units/assignments that utilize information resources and digital technologies. Promote a culture of reading at the building level; provide quality reading materials in a variety of print and digital formats, encourage reading in the content area, provide reader advisory for staff and students, and promote reading as a leisure activity. Design and deliver professional development for staff that aligns with building, department, and District goals. Provide a virtual library presence that allows staff and students to access information and library materials at the point of need. Maintain a welcoming physical library space that encourages collaboration, creativity, and innovation. Create and maintain a personal learning community to foster professional growth. Develop and maintain a vibrant library collection of digital and print material that meets the rapidly changing needs of staff and students and complies with district collection policies. Supervise the day-to-day operation of the library. Train and supervise library staff, student workers, and volunteers. Administer the building library budget. Manage the inventory of building library materials/technology equipment and prepare annual reports. Performs other duties as assigned by the principal.
