Uses a variety of methods including data collected from performance improvement activities, direct observation, patient satisfaction surveys, and hospital goals. Plans and implements formal and informal education activities to meet the needs of nursing staff in assigned areas.
Provides clinical expertise at point of care including implementing care for complex patients or carrying out complex/high risk procedures.
Maintains an accurate system of documentation related to the educational experiences of staff, including orientation and ongoing staff development.
Reviews or develops unit policies and procedures in collaboration with staff; assuring that evidence based practice and research are integrated as appropriate.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, evidence based practice and nursing research projects and initiates or participates in unit Performance Improvement activities.
Facilitates, supports and encourages programs and initiatives that promote specialty certification and advanced education initiatives.
Leads programs that support the Nursing Magnet Model and Peer Review structure in order to drive nursing performance improvement.
Promotes and supports the Professional Excellence Program in collaboration with departmental leaders in research and performance improvement.

Reporting to the Academic Dean, the 2nd Grade Teacher will be responsible for building meaningful relationships with students, implementing a Common Core-aligned curriculum, and working with their grade team, leadership team, and student support team to analyze data to drive instruction. The Opportunity
BrainStorm Tutoring is seeking dynamic and articulate individuals to join our high-caliber corps of academic mentors. This is a unique opportunity to join a community of passionate teachers and to contribute to the education of local youth. In this role you will:
Work with students in a one-to-one setting (primarily in person)
Use executive function coaching to:
Help students with organization, time management, prioritization, planning, and task initiation
Work with students on changing perspective, improving motivation and overall effectiveness
Teach students how to advocate for themselves and become problem solvers
Keep a Flexible schedule: We work with most of our clients in the 2-9pm window on weekdays and anytime on weekends.
Competitive Rate based on credentials/experience: $30 - $40 per hour
Receive professional development and training by BrainStorm senior team members
The Requirements
Bachelors degree or higher in Special Education or related field (i.e. psychology, social work, counseling, etc.)
Special Education experience a must!
Certification in Reading or Special Education highly preferred
Phonics training or a background in multisensory techniques is highly preferred
Math/ELA tutoring and/or SAT/ACT Test Prep experience is a plus!
Experience in executive function coaching or training is a plus!
Ability to work in person and have reliable transportation

Job Description
Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher (Temporary Leave Replacement)
The Nightingale-Bamford School seeks a first grade homeroom teacher leave replacement from February 2026 through June 2026. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with first grade students and an eagerness and ability to collaborate with others. In addition, the candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of child development, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, take initiative, and display an innovative spirit. The candidate should be committed to applying an equity lens to their practice and driven to explore ways to reach all learners through differentiated instruction and student-centered practices. Finally, the candidate must be fluent in the use of technology and well-versed in positive classroom management techniques and a variety of assessment methods.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
Teaching reading, mathematics, English, social studies, and SEL
Collaborating as part of a grade-level team to continuously improve curriculum and instruction
Supporting a positive classroom environment and children's social and emotional growth through developmentally appropriate and responsive practices
Fostering strong communication and problem solving skills, creative thinking, ethical decision making, collaboration and innovation in students
Using grade-level guidelines to assess and evaluate students throughout the year, maintaining records and writing narrative reports accordingly
Building relationships with and maintaining regular contact with first grade families.
Participating in conferences with first grade families
Participating in and contributing to the school community outside of the classroom.
Attending school events, such as curriculum night and admissions events, as needed
Attending weekly meetings as a member of the professional community
Other responsibilities as assigned by the division head
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred
Minimum of five years' experience in elementary education
Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills and leadership qualities
Demonstrated organization and planning skills; strong attention to detail, as well as follow-through skills to ensure completion of goals and objectives
Strong background and familiarity in teaching reading, writing, math, and social studies skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ease in effectively prioritizing multiple competing tasks and demands
A shared understanding of the mission of the School
Demonstrated cultural competence and an ability to understand, appreciate, and work with constituents across varied backgrounds and cultures
SALARY RANGE (for a half year position)
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annualized base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000. Nightingale considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
