JOB SUMMARY:
The Youth Outreach program employs Liaisons at elementary, middle, and high schools throughout Kenosha County to support youth who are at risk for academic failure, dropout, truancy, and/or delinquency. As the Elementary School Liaison, you will work with children and families to reduce truancy and promote educational success by assisting parents in engaging in their child's education. The Elementary School Liaison will work with families to create individualized strategies and support services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LIAISON:
Create, implement, and review individual client treatment plans.
Monitor client behavior and school achievement by conducting in-school checks on a daily basis.
Organize structured group, individual/family education or treatment, and recreational activities.
Update parents/guardians on client progress and provide problem-solving interactions.
Provide supervision and support to youth placed in the Summer Youth Employment Program.
LOCATION: Kenosha, WI. Local travel is required to meet with clients and families within KUSD school buildings, family homes, or other community spaces. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday with occasional evenings. Full-time 40 during the school year (September-early June) and part-time during summer months.

This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site. This is a year-round teaching position and is not seasonal.

What We Need:
The Elementary Bilingual Tutor is directly responsible to the assigned classroom teacher, building pricipal and building principal's designee and in-directly responsible to the Director of the Bilingual & Multilingual Department.
Responsibilities:
* Assist classroom teacher in group work, supplemental practice, and other classroom activities;
* Communicate effectively orally and in writing in language identified;
* Respond to inquiries or concerns in a timely manner;
* Demonstrate initiative for recognizing and resolving issues, concerns, or problems;
* Use appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to guide individuals and groups toward task accomplishment;
* Assist school personnel in obtaining specific information;
* Assist in implementing collaborative activities for students;
* Provide interpretation and translation in regards to student progress, if needed and directed by the classroom teacher;
* Disseminate pertinent information to appropriate parties;
* Provide language assistance to students in academic settings;;
* Represent the District to outside shareholders in a professional and supportive manner;
* Complete and maintain all required records;
* Perform other duties as assigned.
