Substitutes are to be willing and ready to assist Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers in whatever manner the teacher deems necessary, to adapt easily to changing situations, and to take the lead when necessary and appropriate. Experience working with children with special needs preferred. Skills and Competencies: Demonstrated ability, enthusiasm, love and desire to work with and relate to children. Demonstrated ability to conduct self in a professional, courteous manner, to maintain a neat appearance. Strong customer service skills and ability to create/maintain partnerships with families and staff. Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle crisis situations effectively. Ability to multitask while remaining organized and completing tasks by assigned deadlines. Bilingual in English and Spanish or Mandarin/Cantonese preferred. Demonstrated ability to lift 25-30 lbs.
