We currently have an opening for an Elementary Teacher. JOB GOAL Administer instruction to students and help them develop the skills necessary to be successful within the school setting. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provide instruction to students in assigned classes. Create and implement weekly lesson plans. Preparation for assigned classes. Assessment and reporting of student performance. Identifying students' various emotional, social, academic, and behavioral needs. Work and communicate with parents and staff regarding student needs and progress. Arrive at the job site according to the established work schedule. Coordinate classroom duties with support staff and administration. Be responsible for equipment and materials for the program. Have current lesson plans and appropriate materials available for use by any substitute, if necessary. Directly responsible for supervising the work of the support staff. Utilize non-violent crisis prevention intervention techniques when necessary. Contribute to the development and maintenance of an environment which is non-threatening, safe, restorative, and where the students feel respected, accepted, and part of the school community. Attend staff meetings as required. Contribute to the school environment using techniques and strategies found within restorative practices guidelines. Follow any other job-related directions or duties as instructed by the Program Director. What You'll Do: • Keep children safe at all times, and directly supervise them throughout the day. • Plan and lead daily learning activities that help children get ready for school. • Use the center's approved curriculum to help children grow in areas like social skills, language, reading, thinking skills, and physical development. • Create a daily schedule that gives children structure and routine. • Join staff meetings to talk about program improvements, lesson plans, child behavior, and family involvement. • Use simple technology tools to keep records, track children's progress, and complete reports as needed. • Work with families and outside agencies if a child may need extra support. • Help with basic care, including hygiene, meals, and snacks. • Work as part of a team with other teachers and staff to support learning and a positive center culture.
