ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

POSITION PURPOSE
The Learning & Development Trainer assists in the design, delivery, and support of learning experiences that strengthen employee capability across our Credit Union. POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for preparation of the Credit Union's financial statements (including income statements and balance sheets) and regulatory reporting functions (including NCUA 5300 Call Reports). Conducts financial research, monitors financial conditions, prepares reports and recommendations. Perform daily, weekly and month-end processes, such as journal entries and account reconciliations. Ensure that reports, accounts, systems, policies and practices adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and are in legal and regulatory compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
* Financial statement preparation, general ledger, financial and regulatory reporting and reconciliations, compliance to GAAP, related regulations and Credit Union policies and procedures.
* Perform tasks to assist with period end closing such as accruals, and be able to develop internal partnerships within the CU to ensure that Accounting is proactive in recording entries.
* Assist the Assistant Controller with internal and external audit document preparation.
* Attend meetings as required and participate on assigned committees.
* Adhere to all reporting and other deadlines, both internal and external.
* Prepare GL reconciliations and journal entries with attention to detail, completeness and accuracy, as assigned.
* Monitor cash accounts and prepare daily entries as needed / investigate variances and initiate cash transfers.
* Assist with annual budgeting and monthly budget variance processes.
* Assist with and provide support for the department's Accounts Payable functions, as assigned.
* Completes and presents required financial reports, records, projections, and recommendations.
* Work with other accounting staff on high transaction volume GL accounts such as ATM and coin machines and other reconciliations, researching and resolving differences.
* Ad Hoc Accounting projects as needed, implement process improvements, increase efficiency of work flow.
* Ensure transactions are properly authorized and in accordance with company policies.
* Perform responsibilities of position in accordance with federal and state regulations.

Requirements
Education/Certification:
* 4-year college degree preferred, plus five to eight years of related Accounting experience, preferably in a banking environment or a comparable combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge:

POSITION PURPOSE
The Financial Development Counselor is responsible for cultivating trusted relationships with the community and community-based organizations by delivering a high-impact service culture through meaningful financial conversations, active listening, and exceptional interpersonal skills. This role provides personalized banking services at the FDC, ensures accurate transaction processing, and develops, documents, and supports member action plans while serving as an advocate for members' financial growth and achievement of their goals.
The Financial Development Counselor facilitates financial counseling sessions and education workshops both virtually and in person across multiple sites, actively participates in community outreach initiatives and represents the organization at community events. The Financial Development Counselor will be trained on banking skills, including Credit Union products and services, opening and closing accounts, processing loan applications, conducting ATM audits, performing basic retail member transactions, and supporting daily branch operations.

Education and/or Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field or a minimum of eight years directly related experience required
* Minimum of six years progressive loan servicing operations experience, with three years leading or influencing people required
* Strong knowledge of mortgage and consumer loan servicing regulations, investor guidelines, and compliance requirements required
* Proficiency in loan servicing platforms; experience with data analytics tools required
* Proven experience in strategic planning, process improvement, and technology implementation within a financial institution
* Proficiency Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Job Responsibilities:
* Oversees loan servicing functions, including payment processing, escrow administration, payoff processing, investor reporting, and collateral management
* Develops and implements strategies for loan servicing operations to support organizational growth and member experience
* Ensures timely and accurate completion of escrow analyses, investor reconciliations, and regulatory filings
* Establishes performance metrics and KPIs to monitor efficiency, compliance, and service quality
* Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, investor guidelines, and internal policies
* Serves as primary liaison for internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and investor reviews
* Identifies and implements process enhancements and technology solutions to improve efficiency and member experience
* Partners with IT and vendors to optimize loan servicing platforms and reporting tools
* Works closely with Lending, Collections, Compliance, and Finance teams to ensure seamless operations and accurate reporting
* Provides executive-level reporting and insights to senior leadership on servicing performance and trends
* Performs other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor
* Performs all duties inherent in the role of a manager

Summary:

Job Responsibilities:
* Build/strengthen member relationships, greet members in a courteous/professional manner, and provide superior member service
* Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and other transactions
* Verify member identity/signatures, receive approval for transactions when appropriate and ensure the accuracy of amounts handled
* Sell negotiable items (e.g., money orders and official checks) and assist in daily proof
* Cross-sell products and services by advising members of rates, benefits and features
* Ensure the security of the workstation including cash and negotiable items, inform the supervisor when cash on hand exceeds prescribed limit and when additional cash is needed
* Balance Teller drawer daily by counting currency/coin/checks received, prepare Federal Reserve deposits, inventory negotiable items and resolve discrepancies
* Comply with company policies, procedures, guidelines
* Work in other branches as assigned
* Perform other duties as needed upon request by immediate supervisor
