One or more vacancies for tutors are available to work with adults pursuing their high school diploma through the GED or NEDP programs. Subjects include mathematics, reading and writing, social studies, and science.
Essential Role Responsibilities
This is a temporary, hourly position for one semester which can be renewed based on employee performance. Duties include providing individual and/or small group tutoring in for specific classes and topics; tutoring content and study skill strategies; attending mandatory orientation for new tutors and completing HCC online required training. The individual will be responsible for completing required administrative tasks including, but not limited to recordkeeping relevant to tutoring sessions and communications with classroom instructors. Must be willing to work as a team player and abide by grant program policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure students are participating in lessons assigned.
Assist students to complete homework assignments and classroom assignments when needed.
Administer exercises and activities to facilitate clients academic improvement through the utilization of blended evidenced-based educational core curriculums provided through the District of Columbia Public Schools.
Ensure students are logged in properly (online programs) when working in the program and logged out properly when tutoring session is completed.
Ensure that students are adhering to program policies and procedures.
Collaborate with parents/guardians, social workers, probation officers and staff members to assess the clients needs and how best to address them.
Respect and maintain the confidentiality of all clients.
Encourage and support client by maintaining and encouraging a positive attitude about learning, improving self-esteem respecting the client, and involving him or her in decisions about the learning process, supporting the clients efforts and being prompt for all scheduled sessions.
Maintain good order and discipline with client, safeguarding their health and safety.
Meet with CSSD, Probation Officers, and Court appearances when scheduled or required.
Provide reports to CSSD, Probation Officers and AFC Administrative Staff when required and or specified.

Position Summary
Floating TeachingAssistants serve as an integral part of the teaching team for AppleTree students. During the school day, School Aides provide instructional supports and implement classroom activities either in the absence of assigned teaching staff or on a daily basis, when coverage is needed. School Aides are generally not assigned to a dedicated classroom but float as needed throughout the campus or between campuses as needed. Bridges is seeking a passionate Classroom Assistant (CA) to support the whole classroom in our non-categorical self-contained special education classrooms and general education classrooms. The Classroom Assistant will assist with instruction, social-emotional support, and related daily living support for students in grades PreK-5th grade. Supporting classrooms with students who have emotional disorders, autism, pervasive developmental disorder (PDD), developmental delays in one or more areas, intense behavioral challenges, multiple learning problems, and other related disorders. There are two types of non-categorical special education classrooms where a Classroom Assistant could work. A non-categorical special education classroom rooted in the principles of ABA/VB to guide instruction and classroom management. Supervision is provided to all teaching team members by a certified BCBA practitioner. ABA or VB experience is desired but not necessary to apply for the position. Classroom training based on ABA and VB will be provided. Or a Bridge 2 classroom, which is an educational setting for students with diverse and significant learning needs where a teaching team provides instruction across multiple subjects throughout the day. This model offers individualized instruction and adapted lessons from the general education curriculum with aligned standards. Elementary School Chinese Support Teacher Job Description
The Chinese Support Teacher is instrumental in influencing the lives of children at Global Citizens PCS, so they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Support teachers will support the lead Mandarin Chinese teachers with creating a student-centered learning environment that respects the culture and identity of each and every child. In early childhood, our children will learn all content areas in the partner language (Mandarin Chinese) for approximately 90% of the school day. They will learn their early literacy and math skills in English for approximately 10% of the school day. In elementary school (Kindergarten through 5th grade), we use a 50/50 model, where our children receive standards-based instruction (aligned to the Common Core State Standards) in reading, writing, math, and science in the target language for 50% of the time and in English for 50% of the time (each day). The Chinese Support Teacher will collaborate with the lead Mandarin Chinese teacher to implement lessons in the partner language (Mandarin Chinese) and also serve as a model for the partner language. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares and tutors lessons in math and/or reading that range in length for small groups of students (grades 3 - 8). Responsible for monitoring student progress and communicating with school staff and families and participating in professional learning and training. This position reports to the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction or Designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in a field related to the tutoring, or the delivery of instruction to a group of students in an education or child enrichment setting.
1. Have completed at least 45 college credits OR,
2. Be a current or retired licensed teacher
Non-licensed tutors will be required to complete APS ALL- In Tutoring training with the APS All-In Tutoring Coordinator.
SALARY-Current or retired licensed teacher: $50.28 per hour
Other/non-licensed hires: $35.53 per hour

Summary:
