They will also support the Liberal Studies program at the CSUSB-PDC campus to organize educational activities with other departments, organizations and entities in the community. TYPICAL ACTIVITIES Position involves all aspects of being the instructor of record for CAL 2970 and CAL 3970: preparing a syllabus and assignments, creating lessons and class activities, attending classes weekly for the duration of the semester, grading assignments, holding weekly office hours, and responding to student communication in a timely manner. The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. The Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) assists the instructor with preparation & operation of laboratory classes whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. The TA2 may provide instruction in the laboratory. The TA2 may be called upon to assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience. TA2 applicants must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher, or approval of instructor. The course instructor is the direct supervisor, and the person who makes the final hire decision. The TA2 must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus allow time for set-up, resets, take-down/clean-up, meetings with the instructor, grading and other operational activities related to the running of the lab & lecture.
