MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* College coursework with an earned "A" or "B" to be tutored. Professional tutors must have a degree, preferably a Bachelor's or a Master's in related teaching discipline.
* Ability to clearly demonstrate and explain knowledge of the course subject matter to students.
* Ability to work independently and with individuals from all socio-economic backgrounds.
* Ability to follow departmental procedures and guidelines.
* Ability to pass a Content Knowledge Test (for certain courses) with an 80% or above.
* Must be able to devote an entire semester to tutoring and be able to work on any GTC campus.
* Must be able to tutor students one-on-one and/or in a lab setting.
* Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer).
* Student tutors must be able to work at least 10 hours a week and professional tutors should be able to work at least 20 hours a week.
NOTE: Current Greenville Technical College students must be able to obtain and submit two (2) faculty recommendations. Forms will be provided.

Responsibilities:
·Follow all CCDC Employee policies and procedures; request Supervisor/Director clarification as needed
·Follow and support all CCDC Parent policies and procedures; request Director support when necessary
·Substitute in classrooms and provide breaks for teachers when necessary if/when assigned by Supervisor/Program Director/Executive Director

Follow classroom schedule, expectations, and lesson plans, implementing age-appropriate curriculum as assigned (The Creative Curriculum for Infants Toddlers/Preschool, Conscious Discipline, SCPITC, and Handwriting Without Tears)
Collaborate and cooperate with colleagues to foster positive contributions to the CCDC School Family to promote a healthy system
·Actively participate in meal service (family style meals when possible); guide student behavior in cafeteria or classroom and during clean-up from meals or snacks
·Actively supervise Outdoor Learning Spaces activity, monitor for safety, and assist children with social interactions using Conscious Discipline principles
·Assist fellow staff to process laundry-wash/dry/fold as needed
·Ensure your classroom has ample supplies for daily operations
·Maintain cleanliness of classroom, screened-in porch, and outdoor learning spaces while guiding children to take care of equipment, toys, and learning materials
·Follow opening procedures and/or closing procedures as required
·Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings and required training or teacher workdays
Attend all CCDC mandatory trainings for Conscious Discipline (CD), Creative Curriculum, SCPITC, and Handwriting Without Tears (HWOT) as assigned
Requirements

Purpose Statement:
The purpose of the Special Education TeacherAssistant position is to assist the classroom teacher in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing support to students with disabilities in alignment with the instructional goals of the school.
