Assist in administering surveys to students throughout the program to track progress in SEL, college and career readiness, and other areas of concern.
Act as chaperones during occasional field trips during program time, ensuring students travel to and from all locations safely.
Work closely with the Education and Career Instructors, who will lead the program and are responsible for ensuring the smooth implementation of the curriculum.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
A 2- or 4-year degree in social work, education, counseling, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
1-4 years of experience working with middle or high school youth, including experience working with ELL, first-generation, and low-income students. Experience working with students with IEPs is a plus.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust.
Strong problem-solving skills and proven record for taking ownership of responsibilities.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while independently managing tasks and responsibilities.
Experience working in an international and multicultural environment.
Undergrad or graduate students with teaching experience are welcomed to apply.
Highly Desired Skills and Qualifications:

You may enroll your elementary-aged child (grades 1-5, Fall '26) at a 75% discount for non-vendor classes and 30% discount for vendor classes. Materials fees and some classes are excluded. Staff Expectations
All summer staff will be expected to attend a one (1) hour planning session prior to the end of the school year.
Details to come. For teachers and related service providers, planning time is not compensated separately as it is built into the daily rate paid during the summer session.
Professional staff will be expected to develop their schedules and have them completed by June 5, 2026, so they can be shared with families before the end of the school year. Staff will need to communicate schedules to families at this time.
To ensure consistency of programming and coverage, it is preferred but not required that all teachers and TAs commit to working the full 5 weeks and use the scheduled vacation week for time off. (*see above). Those that cannot are encouraged to apply for substitute positions or find a job share partner.

The Lead Classroom Assistant will provide case management for two students, including designing and implementing student programming based on the students' individualized education plan (IEP) goals. In collaboration with the Head Teacher, you will assist with assessments, ensure accurate data collection, help train new staff, and maintain a cohesive and supportive classroom environment and student success. You will also support families by conducting weekly home parent training sessions.
The Darnell School is a program of Advocates and is a 221-day-per-year ABA school program serving students ages 9-22 with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or behavioral challenges. Minimum Education Required Bachelor's Degree Responsibilities

Responsibilities and Duties
Maintain an organized, structured classroom environment aligned with the daily schedule.
Implement designated curricula effectively and with fidelity.
Document lesson implementation and student progress consistently (daily/weekly).
Deliver Core Knowledge lesson plans and adhere to the established sequence.
Participate in all required professional development sessions.
Attend weekly grade-level meetings, weekly/bi-weekly TeacherAssistance Team (TAT) meetings, and bi-monthly staff meetings.
Participate in IEP meetings as needed.
Complete required Special Education documentation and implement classroom accommodations outlined in IEPs and 504 Plans.
Conduct weekly (designated) peer practice sessions for 30 minutes.
Attend and conduct four parent-teacher conferences annually (two in fall, two in spring).
Participate in Back to School Night, open houses, and other mandatory evening events.
Perform assigned morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon duties.
Support, adhere to, and uphold all school policies and procedures.
Carry out additional duties assigned by grade-level leaders, department heads, and the Leadership Team.
