The University of Washington Seattle (UWS) Social Work Program invites applications for a CWTAP Field Instructor position at the rank of Teaching Associate. This is a non-tenurable, annually renewable, full-time (1.0 FTE) position with a 9-month service period. CWTAP faculty work each summer quarter and are therefore eligible for up to 3 months of additional salary each academic year.
The base salary range for this position will be $7850 - $8500 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The Field Instructor would provide direct supervision and instruction for a unit of CWTAP participants in their Foundation and Advanced field placement at one of the designated offices of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
The Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program (CWTAP) provides graduate-level social work education and practice experience for public child welfare employees and prospective employees through collaboration with the UWS Social Work Program and DCYF. This position will ensure the development of professional social work skills in students committed to post-MSW service in public child welfare.
Primary duties include:
· Provide direct supervision and instruction for students placed in designated DCYF offices including the following duties:
· Supervise and evaluate CWTAP students' field experience;
· Provide weekly individual and or group supervision for each student;
· Develop quarterly syllabi for foundation and advanced practicum;
· Develop instructional activities to address the learning goals of the program;
· Develop and facilitate integrative and educational seminars;
· Develop educational contracts; monitor students' field experience and progress;
· Help students integrate theoretical knowledge, classroom experience, and current practice;
· Provide an educational climate that challenges students to expand their professional skills, knowledge, and values including working with a diverse client base from a culturally relevant perspective;
· Document Title IV-E case forms, meetings, correspondence, and plans regarding each student's progress;

· Collaborate with students and mentors to develop skills and activities that reflect the objectives of the student's learning contract;

The School of Educational Studies (SES) at the University of Washington Bothell seeks part-time Field Instructor(s) in the Elementary Education teacher certification undergraduate and post-baccalaureate programs for the 2024-25 academic year. The SES teacher certification programs enable student teacher candidates to pursue teacher certification in Elementary Education with a dual endorsement option in either English Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) or Special Education (SPED) during the final quarters at UW Bothell.
Field Instructors are part-time faculty appointed into the title of Teaching Associate (0169) and work with elementary education student teacher candidates at K-12 levels, as well as with candidates in the dual endorsement program for ESOL and/or SPED. The appointment is temporary, non-tenure track, and appointed and compensated for the appropriate time period in which candidate observations/evaluations occur.
These positions work closely with student teacher candidates to facilitate connections between academic instruction and student teaching experiences at area K-12 schools and coach and evaluate student teaching experiences. They serve as liaisons in coordinating the functions of the student teaching experience within the expectations of the University. They act as mediators between teacher candidates and building principals and UW Bothell faculty and staff and assume primary responsibility for the assessment of the candidates' student teaching experiences.
This position works independently and with a team of field instructors, placement coordinators, academic advisors, K12 educators, and faculty, and facilitates individual and small group discussions. They mentor students from underrepresented populations, work within a public school system, will travel independently to varied school locations and at varying times during the week and will be expected to model professional behavior in an educational setting. Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field

The Department of Urology has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (APP - ARNP/PA-C) to fill a full-time, 12 month, academic position at the Teaching Associate level. The anticipated start date for the position is as early as Summer 2025. Teaching Associates hold annual appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30) and may be reappointed to subsequent annual terms. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.
The base salary range for this position will be: $10,000 - $14,500 per month ($120,000 - $174,000 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.
The ARNP/PA is an integrated role which includes clinical, education and research components. This individual will be a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physicians to actively participate in the care of patients undergoing treatment and prevention, primarily at the interdisciplinary Urology Clinic at the UW Medicine Eastside Specialty Clinic (ESC), in Bellevue, WA. During an initial training period, this position will spend a minimum of one (1) day per week at the UW Medicine Men's Health Center (MHC) located at the Roosevelt Clinic in Seattle, WA. After this initial period the successful candidate will have the option to fully transition to ESC or continue to see patients at both clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Urology services, with a focus on General Urology. They will work independently and in concert with appropriate privileges, including initial and ongoing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patient's medical, physical and psychosocial status in the inpatient and outpatient settings. There will be an opportunity to interact and work with Residents and Fellows of these disciplines.
Patient care duties
· Provide advanced practice care within scope of practice for Urology inpatients and outpatients.
· Order, initiate and perform testing appropriate to presenting complaints.
· Perform comprehensive physical exams including focused Urology exam as appropriate.
· Identify diagnoses based on history, test result interpretation and assessment.
· Prescribe and/or institute treatment plans based on assessments and diagnostic tests.
· Prescribe medications as needed.
· Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust treatments accordingly.
· Initiate consultation with Attending MD and Chief Resident as appropriate.
· Admit patients to inpatient status as indicated. Discharge patients to home as indicated.
· Perform effectively during emergency situations, using sound judgment and following established protocol.
· Document assessment, findings, interventions, and outcomes as appropriate in patient medical record.
· Teach patient and family as needed to manage or improve health status.
· Coordinate/collaborate with other disciplines, health care providers, referring providers, health plans, etc., to meet patient needs.
· Provide referrals to other health care providers as needed, e.g., medical specialty, social work, physical therapy, etc.
· Lead or participate in team conferences as needed.
· Complete appropriate billing and charge documents.
· Demonstrate flexibility in responding to needs of clinic schedule and patient needs.
· Conduct appropriate handoff to house staff for patients requiring admission
· Perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing lacerations and incision and drainage of abscesses, including administration of local anesthesia, or perform other specialty procedures within scope of practice.
