Assist with oversight of client service staff to ensure proper coverage of the front desk, phones and in-person clients Interface with trainers, groomers and front end staff about intakes, go-homes, training dog schedules, grooming needs and client-specific requests. WHAT YOU’LL DO Warehouse Operations Management: Plans, supervises, and participates in the maintenance of a safe and sanitary work area at all times. Exercises direct supervision over unionized Warehouse staff and volunteers for all production and order fulfillment requirements. Ensure quality assurance checks are being performed correctly and report any issues to the Manager immediately. Verify that all shelf-stable, produce, or product materials are correct and maintain records and reports documenting any excess damage, discard, or other issues. Regularly maintains department reports in NAVISION; works with team members to audit own work. Ensures that warehouse staff complies with all Warehousing SOP’s. Partners with the Production Manager and team for the daily execution and completion of the production schedule for all production areas. Maintain AIB standards and follow GMP practices in designated production areas. Monitor and assist when needed on all preventive maintenance issues and equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) and ensure that it is being completed and/or reported promptly. Produce and maintain accurate and real-time Inventory and receiving data. Ensure that forklift drivers are performing their daily inspections and keeping their lifts clean. Coordinates efforts with the Volunteer Department to ensure that when new processes are adopted all staff and volunteers have been properly trained and training records are signed and logged. Partners with the Production team to oversee daily production processes such as gleaning incoming produce and other perishable items. Oversees product receiving and storage areas and works with the Transportation Operations Manager and Product Acquisitions/Donations team for incoming scheduling. Works closely with Manager and vendor to ensure proper maintenance of the cooler/freezer. Safety Compliance and Training: Provides training and general direction to ensure compliance with equipment use and Standard Operating Procedures. Make sure all staff or volunteers are following food safety guidelines and workplace safety rules and report any accidents or safety issues to the Warehouse Manager immediately. Report any unsafe work conditions to the Operations team and advise of corrective action taken. Collaboration and Communication: Works closely with other Operations and Inventory Control team members to ensure high-quality communication and collaboration. Communication with internal functions (e.g. Product Donations, Agency Relations, etc.) to coordinate appropriate delivery and pick-up activities. Works closely with the Inventory Control Department to ensure excellent service to participating agencies and programs. Ensures support is provided to the Inventory team for month-end and year-end inventory audits. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum High School diploma, some college or other additional education/training preferred. Minimum six (6) years experience in food processing, food distribution, or a similar manufacturing environment, with two (2) or more years in supervisor capacity. Two years’ experience with AIB, HACCP, and GMP, is required. Ability to supervise others and work with minimum supervision. Complete knowledge of warehousing, sanitation, food, and general safety practices and procedures. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Possesses the ability to develop and implement strategic plans based on data analysis and development. Knowledge of general food safety requirements, auditing requirements, inspections, etc. Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills along with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding cause and effect, both verbally and written. Prefer bilingual English/Spanish Good computer skills in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, and Google Docs platform Knowledge of forklift and pallet jack (manual & electrical) maintenance and safety procedures.
