We are hiring a Janitorial Team Supervisor who has responsibility for coordinating the daily janitorial schedule to ensure that all areas are appropriately clean in an efficient manner. You will assist the Total Quality Manager in functions as requested with regards to cleanliness and food safety. This position is the expert on janitorial processes and requirements and will provide leadership for janitorial team members. This is a salaried and incentive eligible position.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and direct the daily janitorial operations conducted by the janitorial crew.
• Oversee the master janitorial schedule, maintain organized cleaning records, chemical usage, and team member productivity.
• Build SOP’s and processes for the janitorial team and ensure they are being followed.
• Maintain all janitorial related documents in accordance with the quality documentation policy.
• Report damaged equipment to the Maintenance department in a timely manner.
• Ensure that the janitorial crew is on task and assign any problem areas.
• Communicate with Total Quality Manager about any quality or sanitation issues.
• Monitor and assist janitorial team members as they clean their areas to ensure proper sanitation.
• Purchase janitorial supplies and ensure adequate inventory at all times.
• Perform inspections of areas of responsibility for cleanliness.
• Conduct quality and safety audits.
• Supervise team members by scheduling work assignments, hiring, disciplining when necessary, and giving team member feedback through daily communication and through scheduled performance evaluations.
• Train the janitorial crew in the proper safety and cleaning methods.
• Prepare reports on inspection findings and accidents.
• Make internal audit corrections.
• Lead extra janitorial projects as needed.
• All other tasks requested by Total Quality Manager or other Managers.
Qualifications:
• Minimum two years of experience in the food industry related to sanitation, quality, or production preferred.
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends when needed to provide support for team members vacations, training needs, and as called upon.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Proficient with janitorial equipment such as floor scrubbers, mixing stations, etc.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.
• Must possess knowledge in the areas of GMPs, SSOPs, and general food safety industry regulations.
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.
• This position requires standing, walking, some sitting, and working in a cold environemnt. May be required to life up to 60 pounds.
