Dr. David Lyerly co- founded TECHLAB in 1989 and currently serves as the Chief Scientific Officer. Lyerly was a Research Scientist at Virginia Tech in the Anaerobe Lab when he and Dr. Tracy Wilkins started TECHLAB to extend their work on diagnostics for Clostridium difficile infection. He has published numerous articles on C. difficile, parasitology, and intestinal diseases on diverse areas including basic and molecular microbiology, development of diagnostic reagents for Clostridium difficile infection, protein purification, mechanism of action of toxins A and B, and possible vaccines.
