Refactor Games is a AAA sports video game studio. We are developing the next generation of professional football (soccer) video games using Unreal Engine 5.
We are seeking a Senior UI Artist to join our team and help shape the visual identity of our game's user interface. In this role, you will create polished, intuitive, and visually cohesive UI art assets while working closely with UI/UX designers, engineers, and game designers. As a member of the creative services team, you will set the standard for gameplay capture quality, develop efficient workflows and pipelines, and collaborate closely with game development, marketing, and other creative teams to ensure all materials meet the highest standards. This role demands both artistic vision and technical proficiency to deliver assets that perform across diverse platforms and marketing channels.
What You'll Do
Capture, frame, and edit exceptional gameplay footage directly within Unity builds for trailers, ads, social media, and other marketing materials
Operate and manipulate in-game cameras, lighting, and visual effects to create cinematic and engaging shots that highlight key gameplay moments and features
Collaborate with game designers, artists, and engineers to identify the most compelling gameplay scenarios and visual storytelling opportunities
Develop and maintain efficient capture pipelines and technical workflows that scale across multiple projects and platforms
Create detailed shot lists, storyboards, and capture plans aligned with marketing campaign objectives and creative briefs
Optimize capture settings, resolution, frame rates, and technical specifications for different distribution channels (YouTube, social platforms, streaming services)
Provide technical guidance on in-game camera systems, replay functionality, and capture tools during game development
Coordinate with video editors, motion graphics artists, and creative teams to ensure captured footage meets post-production requirements
Stay current on Unity features, capture technologies, recording tools, and industry best practices for gameplay presentation
Build and maintain a library of high-quality gameplay assets for rapid deployment across marketing initiatives
QA and troubleshoot technical issues related to capture quality, performance, and visual fidelity
What We're Looking For
5+ years of experience capturing gameplay footage for trailers and other marquee, public facing video assets, with at least 3 years working directly in Unity
Expert knowledge of Unity Editor, including camera systems, Timeline, Cinemachine, and scene manipulation
Strong understanding of composition, lighting, color theory, and cinematic principles
Proficiency with capture software (OBS, Shadowplay, etc.) and video editing tools (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve)
Demonstrated ability to identify and frame compelling gameplay moments that resonate with target audiences
Experience working across multiple game genres and understanding what makes each visually distinctive
Technical knowledge of video codecs, compression, frame rates, and delivery specifications for various platforms
Strong collaboration skills with the ability to translate creative direction into executed capture plans
