AAS/AS Degree (minimum) in a technical discipline (Civil Engineering, Construction Management...etc.) with 1-2 years of documentation support experience OR 3-5 years of documentation support experience in an operations environment.
Superior competency with Microsoft Office (all tools in the suite).


Scope of Position:
  • This position is in the Sullivan Park Operations directorate within the Laboratory Services Management & Engineering (LSME) department. The primary function of the LSME department is to provide support for Research, Development & Engineering (RD&E) activities by providing professional service in the areas of Project Management (PM), Infrastructure Engineering (IE), Life Safety Systems and Engineering (LSSE), Space Planning Analysis & Control (SPAC) and Pollution Abatement (PA).
  • A key part of this role is building working relationships with those individuals who own, use and reference LSME documents on a routine basis. Time will be spent working with all levels of the organization and with cross-functional team members.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

Support of the following focus areas including, but not limited to:

1. Safety

This position must remain in compliance with all corporate safety requirements as well as those of both Sullivan Park Operations and the LSME department. Requirements include:
Responsibility for knowing safety policies and ensuring personal safety
Completion of all required safety training
(Steel-toed shoes and prescription safety glasses are the responsibility of the employee, all other PPE required to perform the job will be provided)

2. Documentation

This position is responsible for managing and maintaining the department's documentation libraries (OnFile, SharePoint...etc.) and for developing a process to support the auditing of various types of documents utilized by LSME Operation groups, including, but not limited to:
Infrastructure Engineering Group
Project Management Group
CCIC Operations
Pollution Abatement Operations
Knowledge Management Document Control in the form of, but not limited to, the following document types:
IE System Documentation
AutoCAD Drawings
1-line Schematics
Air Balance Documentation
Panel Schedules
Project Documentation
Equipment Operation Manuals
Preventative Maintenance Schedules
Spare Parts List
Operations Documentation
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO)

3. Partnership

CISP Design Standards: Time will be spent managing documentation in the CISP Design Standards Library in On-File and on the Corning Partner SharePoint site.
Lab Operations Processes: Time will be spent supporting LSME's Lab Operation groups (IE, CCIC, PA...etc.) and their documentation needs that support the operation of these groups, thus the sustainability of their processes.
LSME's Maximo & BIM Programs: Time will be spent collaborating with these teams and supporting the documentation necessary for sustaining data linkage between these systems and other documentation sites.

4. Compliance

This position will support and ensure departmental compliance to the Department of Archives and Record Management (DARM) policies, as well as to the Sullivan Park retention schedule, procedures, and standards.


Travel Requirements

Conferences, training, or customer visits, as approved by supervisor. Travel expenses are managed by the employee and the supplier.
