Summary/Objective: The Product Engineer designs and develops within New Product or Sustaining Product Engineering.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
Developing & writing the Engineering inputs for technical documentation; and adhere to all corporate engineering standards including but not limited to documentation, file management, part modeling, and part simulation.
Works directly with Marketing and Sales to review opportunities and develop engineering cost analyses based on Product Scopes, work directly with purchasing, quality, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, process engineering, electroplating, suppliers, and other necessary groups as a cross-functional team to develop products and solutions.

Orbital Engineering's Utility Infrastructure Improvement (UII) Department partners with Utility and Communication Companies in Engineering and Construction operations for Joint Use Pole Attachment Programs (JU), Distribution Engineering Design Projects, and Distribution System Improvement Charge (DSIC) programs, such as the Pennsylvania Long-Term Infrastructure Improvement Program (LTIIP).
This position will directly support projects within the UII Department's pole attachment application process and power delivery improvement process. The UII team is also responsible for analyzing requests for attachment to client's poles and network reliability improvements on client's electric distribution systems. UII staff support GIS data analytics, creation of notifications, work orders, invoicing, and financial reports utilizing enterprise resource planning software.
Orbital Engineering, Inc. is currently seeking a Joint Use Design Supervisor for a REMOTE WORK position. This position requires experience with both Joint Use and Electrical Distribution Design.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of team personnel to deliver projects on time and on budget while accomplishing the goals and objectives of the projects.
Directs and/or provides technical leadership to team for engineering design and construction functions within assigned projects
Utilizes thorough understanding of National Electric Safety Code (NESC) Standards, Client Standards, State or Local Municipal Guidelines, and/or other applicable guidelines to manage team through engineering designs (Pole Replacements, Communication Space Rearrangements, Joint-Use Design) for possible joint-use or make-ready construction
Manages team productivity and ensures projects our closed out and invoiced accordingly
Supports leadership team with client onboarding, contract negotiations, and extended relationship development to grow Orbital UII business
Schedules work according to contractual agreements and assigns team personnel to appropriately meet agreement teams
Responsible for development of customer proposals, including detailed technical scope, schedule, budget, and resource management.
Regularly interfaces directly with clients or contractors to ensure department projects are executed in alignment with scope
Communicate potential strategic initiatives or team risks to internal management team
Regularly works with internal stakeholders to ensure team has necessary resources to remain productive and effective
Provides personnel orientation/training, mentorship, coaching, and disciplinary action

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline with 3+ years of experience in the utility industry, engineering design, and/or project management.
Supervisory experience of 0-2 years
Thorough and working knowledge of electrical distribution assets and/or communication equipment construction
Experience in managing multiple projects with competing priorities while maintain schedule and budget
Ability to negotiate and develop relationships with current and new clients or contracting parties
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements with measurable results in moving a departmental initiative forward
Successful candidate must have exceptional analytical and decision-making skills, the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Skills required for this role include but are not limited to being detail-oriented, strong organization skills and excellent written as well as verbal communication skills/
Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining an effective team
Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications
Experience with analyzing data and preparing departmental financial reporting

**Roles and Responsibilities**
+ Own design activities through life of development programs (from concept through detail design to production release).
+ Develop CAD 3D models and associated drawings and other documentation.

+ Support high speed bearing selection and design.

+ Verify designs have adequate Safety Factors prior to releasing to production. Work with customer/ redesign if required to obtain producible designs.

+ Review and approve documentation for transition from prototype to production.
+ Provide engineering support to trouble shoot and diagnose non-performing product.
+ When assigned, oversee the failure analysis process providing support and final review of all reports.
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
+ **Must have a minimum 5 years** **experience in the mechanical layout and design of high-speed turbomachinery (speed greater than 30,000 RPM) for aerospace applications including axial fans, centrifugal blowers, centrifugal and/or mixed flow compressors, and radial inflow and axial turbines. Project Engineer - Structures / Bridges
Benesch is seeking to hire a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join our Railroad-Bridge team as a lead Bridge Project Engineer. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Bridge professional with a solid technical design background. In addition to technical expertise, the perfect candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. As a Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to strategic initiatives to advance our Railroad Division's growth in the region.
Benesch's Railroad Division is made up of highly skilled rail professionals, many of whom are former employees of operating railroads. This firsthand experience working on designing and maintaining active rail systems uniquely equips our team to develop innovative solutions to a wide variety of rail projects.

This position will have a hybrid work schedule and, when in the office, will work from our Cincinnati, OH office.

Performing basic analysis of project elements

What We Are Looking For
BS in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or related discipline
MS in Civil Engineering preferred
PE License or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
Minimum of 4 years of structural design experience
Excellent communication and client relation skills.
Detail-oriented and experienced with developing plans and specifications
Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules.
Ability to perform complex analysis and design using a variety of structural engineering software
