The average employee age for technical interns is 41 years. The technical internship workforce reached a whopping 131,834 in 2020!

Among technical interns, we discovered that 39.4% of them are women, while 53.8% are men. The most common race/ethnicity among technical interns is White, which makes up 60.0% of all technical interns. Comparatively, there are 14.2% of the Asian ethnicity and 13.3% of the Hispanic or Latino ethnicity. The majority of technical interns are located in NY, New York and IL, Chicago.

Technical interns are more likely to work at public companies in comparison to private companies. Taking it a step further, technical interns are more likely to find a job in the health care industry. Looking at technical internship statistics, we found was that New York, California, Delaware, Texas and Maryland are where technical interns find the highest salaries.

From where do we know all information about technical internship demographics? We analyzed 26,558 technical interns resumes to find out what the average demographics are for the job position. Just to be clear, by demographics we mean the study of population-based factors like age, race, and sex. On top of scouring through resumes, we also took note of job proposals from employers and Census Bureau data. And guess what? We found some pretty interesting information.
