Technical Internship Job In Las Vegas, NV
Responsibilities: • Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process. • Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process. • Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process. • Disconnects the donor when the process is complete. • Maintains alertness and awareness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff. • Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events. • Uses PDA to link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor. • Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues. • Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). • Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable. • Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions. • Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information. • May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business. • Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business. • Perform job-related duties as assigned. Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated individual to assist in the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of our NERC Compliance Assurance Software. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, integrate, update, and optimize software solutions that support the monitoring and management of NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) compliance. You will play a key role in ensuring that the software meets regulatory standards, improves efficiency in compliance reporting, and integrates with existing systems. A strong understanding of NERC requirements and experience in software development, testing, and troubleshooting are essential for success in this position.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Work as part of a team to provide support to the compliance team and business units that are responsible for the bulk electric system.
* Assist in the development of processes to track and document all NERC compliance.
* Assist in the design and process improvement for large data workflows.
* Build database structure and utilize SQL commands to export data query.
* Build displays and data cards to assist subject matter experts to meet tight compliance deadlines.
* Build out the Business Intelligence reporting tools.
* Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
* Interface with engineering staff, plant site operations & GRID operations staff, and other personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective software solutions
* Participate in special projects and assignments as requested
* Data entry, sample collection, and preparation of applications and reports
* Other duties may be assigned
* All students must provide transcripts and verification of college/university enrollment in order to begin or continue employment.
All students must be available to work the following schedule:
* School Year (Spring & Fall Semesters): minimum of 12 up to a maximum of 20 hours per week
* Summer: 20 - 40 hours per week
* Internship will begin Spring 2025 and end May 2026
Requirements
Education and Qualifications
* Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelors program, in computer engineering, information systems, information technology or any related degree, with a minimum accumulative GPA of 2.75. Must be a full-time student with a minimum load of 12 units. Previous work experience is desired but not required.
* Specialized Knowledge and Skills
* Proficient with Microsoft Office products and SQL language is preferred.
* Equipment and Applications
* Business optimization is preferred
* PCs, Word processing, Spreadsheet and Database software

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Compensation
