Job Description:
Construction Technologies Specialist, Lead position works to standardize field workflows and drives adoption of construction management platforms across projects. They bring deep knowledge of construction management processes from project setup through document control, RFIs and submittals, quality and safety routines, schedule handoffs, change management, and closeout. Working closely with Operations, the Lead Specialist position translates jobsite realities into clear, scalable practices, coordinates rollouts and training, and keeps feedback loops open so standards stay practical. They mentor others, support change in the field, and ensure technology use strengthens safety, quality, schedule, and cost outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and maintain SOPs, checklists, and standardized workflows that work on jobsites
• Lead end-to-end implementation efforts for new or changed workflows, including planning, site readiness, pilot design, cutover playbooks, and go-live support
• Travel to project sites to observe current processes, coach teams, capture pain points, and share best practices
• Run change impact reviews with Operations and Shared Services and align roles and responsibilities across teams
• Plan and deliver training and communications for new or changed workflows
• Partner with team members to shape configurations, forms, logs, dashboards, and reports that match operational needs
• Track adoption and data quality with straightforward KPIs; drive corrective actions with project leadership and report results
• Surface system limitations and translate field needs into clear vendor enhancement requests and help influence product roadmaps
• Coordinate with vendors on release timing, feature fit, and known issues; validate fixes and communicate impacts to project teams
• Lead cross-functional working sessions to resolve cross-project process issues and improve handoffs
• Support evaluations and pilots of new tools and features with clear goals, test scripts, and success criteria; recommend go/no-go
• Act as an escalation point for process questions and adoption blockers; route technical issues to the right teams and follow through to closure
• Mentor team members and project champions to build onsite capability and sustain standards over time
• Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Minimum bachelor's degree in the field of Construction Management, Engineering, Business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 6+ years in construction operations with strong project team exposure
• Demonstrated experience with construction management platforms (e.g., Procore)
• Proven experience with prevalent ERP platforms (e.g. CMiC, Oracle, Sage 300) is a plus
• Expertise with field workflows, including document management, RFIs, submittals, quality, safety, and scheduling
• Demonstrated experience with cost control processes related to construction, such as management of contracts, budgets, change orders, etc.
• Proven record of creating SOPs, running trainings, and leading adoption across multiple implementation initiatives
• Strong interpersonal and coaching skills; experience managing cross-functional stakeholders
• Proven ability to translate business and user needs into scalable, platform-based solutions
• Ability to lead change management efforts and facilitate field adoption of new technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train and influence diverse project teams

Maintain periodic contact with the “Principle in Charge” for the architect, program manager and the owner.
Lead weekly OAC meetings and meet as needed, maintaining issues list with weekly status updates.
Maintains timely and accurate communication with project team throughout the course of the project.
Manages pay application process including reviewing and coding of project related invoices for payment, timely billing of client, follow through on collection of payments, and coordination of check issuance to subcontractors.
Reconciles subcontractor billings prior to project completion and resolves whatever is necessary to complete close out of each subcontractor and vendor in a timely manner.
Review the safety training program and the safety procedures for the projects under his/her management on a regular basis to ensure that an effective program is being conducted. Review and mitigate safety trends. Conduct thorough “root cause” investigations on any accidents.
Elevate and coordinate all legal matters involving construction to the Director of Construction.
Develop risk management and recovery strategies when project schedules or budgets are in jeopardy.
Conducts walk punch list walk-thru with ownership for projection completion and sign-off.
Manage all facets of project close-out, including archiving of documents, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
As an Associate Project Manager, you will assist Project Management resources with key project activities including communication, change management, timely and on-budget completion of project deliverables while meeting client scope and quality requirements. All work will follow established AVI-SPL Project Management principles and procedures. AVI-SPL will help you acquire/develop skills over time to manage smaller complexity projects with the ultimate goal to progress into the Project Manager position.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
* Learn and comply with all AVI-SPL standard process and procedures within the AVI-SPL Operations Playbook, utilizing tools approved and provided by AVI-SPL.
* Review and acquire a thorough knowledge of contract documents for each assigned project including, but not limited to project scopes of work, bid drawings and specifications, contract, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedules.
* Manage project team resource tasks and milestone activity.
* Facilitate discovery and documentation during internal project kick-off meetings as needed
* Participate in external project kick-off meetings with all necessary external stakeholders as well as applicable internal resources as required.
* Manage internal and external project communication and documentation through accurate files and records of project status and activities.
* Respond to communications from customers regarding problems or concerns in a timely and professional manner as directed.
* Compile job progress reports. Raise any issues to Project/Office Management for proper escalation.
* Review daily site progress reports from lead technicians and respond to needs identified.
* Assist in the management of equipment requests, distribution and shipping through pick ticketing, packing slip and sign off process requirements.
* Assist Management through the change order process through assurance that any scope, schedule, cost or change of terms are handled in accordance with AVI-SPL change order procedures.
* Deliver quality analysis report of internal resources and subcontractors.
* Ensure all closeout/as-built documentation is created and stored in proper location for service and/or future office reference.
* Develop and maintain strong relationship with customers with direct interaction with focus on improving customers' perception of on time delivery, quality, responsiveness, problem solving and service.
* Achieve project results per customer requirements to obtain AVI-SPL Net Promoter Score goals
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must Haves:
* Demonstrated experience in an assistant Project Manager or Project Coordination role fulfilling the responsibilities listed in this .
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and PDF software.
* Ability to manage tasks and resources to meet project objectives.
* Energized self-starter characteristics and ability to work independently.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
* Excellent attention and time management skills while adapting to change priorities.
* Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards.
* Ability to travel to various job sites as required.
Nice-to-Haves:
* Experience in the Audio Visual, Construction, Technology or related industry.
* Ability to read and comprehend project technical and construction documents.
* Project budget maintenance skills.
