The Associate Engineer Technical Services provides technical support/advanced troubleshooting and drives continuous product, process, and packaging improvement at MW factory locations. The position is a member of the MSE Focused Improvement (FI), FMOS Pillars and support Q Pillar initiatives; leads/executes improvement projects and mentors/trains others in problem solving methodologies. Additionally, this role manages R&D line trials by coordinating requests with the site value stream, R&D, Engineering and Commercial to ensure optimal execution and knowledge capture.

Albemarle is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to support our Catalyst business. This position will be based in Clear Lake, Texas.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Lead or assist as appropriate the sales of FCC catalysts and additives to assigned accounts; identify potential new customers and develop technology strategy for gaining new accounts.Design catalyst formulation and prepare yield projections and customer presentations to gain new or maintain existing business. Make the technical case to the customer for the sale of catalysts or additives.Monitor and validate to customer product performance.Provide unit monitoring, technical service and assistance as well as troubleshooting to customers to maintain on-going sales of FCC catalyst and/or additives; analyze and optimize unit operations and catalyst performance, prepare and present technical service and unit monitor reports, formulate catalyst production specifications, and conduct seminars and training.Prepare internal visit reports.Generate/improve and maintain technical service tools, models, reference lists, presentations, catalyst comparisons.Lead or assist as needed in developing market data on current and potential customers.Participate in generating external papers and seminars that will improve technical skills and service customers.Remain current on sales opportunities in assigned accounts, as well as on technical trends in the relevant market segments by attending seminars and presenting technical papers.Assist global partners in achieving sales and technical goals for business.

Education and Experience:
BS or MS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree.Prefer 5+ years of experience in one of the following areas: 1) FCC related technical service (catalyst or hardware). 2) FCC unit operation. 3) FCC unit and related hardware installation, turnarounds and startups. 4) FCC catalysts R&D or manufacturing, application. 5) Commercialization of FCC catalysts.

Organization/planning, communication/presentation, strong interpersonal skills, analytical ability, problem solving, teamwork/cooperation.Catalyst, FCC and refinery knowledge, productivity and work quality, innovation/creativity, continuous learning and self-improvement. FCC SIM experience preferred.
