  • Member of AI Staff

    Ethereum Foundation 4.1company rating

    Remote job

About the Ethereum Foundation The Ethereum Foundation (EF) is a global non-profit dedicated to supporting Ethereum's long-term success. Our mission is to allocate resources to critical projects, advocate for Ethereum within the ecosystem, and promote its vision to the world. About the Team and Role The EF recently launched the dAI Team, focused on making Ethereum the global, decentralized settlement and coordination layer for AI. Our aim is to pioneer the field of AI on blockchains: defining standards, supporting open-source builders, and laying the groundwork for AI systems that are secure, verifiable, and censorship-resistant. As a Member of AI Staff, you will join a small, research-driven group tackling frontier problems at the intersection of AI and decentralized systems. You'll work on open questions around multi-agent coordination, verifiable inference, privacy-preserving compute, and decentralized infrastructure for AI. The role is highly collaborative, spanning research, engineering, and engagement with leading AI and Web3 projects worldwide. Key Responsibilities Lay the foundations of a new discipline (AI on blockchains): Conduct foundational research at the intersection of AI and Ethereum-multi-agent systems coordination, decentralization of key components in the AI stack, AI system validation, and privacy. Close the chasm between Ethereum and AI communities: Forge relationships and collaborations with AI researchers and practitioners-both industry and academic-through co-writing ERCs/EIPs (such as ERC-8004 which is getting a lot of traction in the ecosystem), contributing to open source AI projects and frameworks, co-authoring papers, and presenting at major conferences. Influence the roadmap of the dAI Team: Translate research into applied proposals that improve the Ethereum protocol and ecosystem infrastructure. Research in conversation with the community, not in isolation: AI on Ethereum is fundamentally about using the chain as a coordination layer to foster security, privacy, composability, and other properties that centralized AI cannot provide. Staying closely connected to the community is a priority-both by actively sharing new projects and results outwardly, and by drawing inspiration from the many experiments ecosystem teams are running in this emerging field. Requirements Relevant background: Demonstrated skills related to state-of-the-art model development practices, emergent frameworks and tooling, or privacy-preserving compute methods. Prior experience with blockchain protocols is a plus. Contributions to open source AI or distributed systems projects are especially valued. Research excellence: Strong background in research, whether in academia, labs, or applied industry settings. Experience ideally includes AI, distributed systems, optimization, or cryptography. A PhD is welcome but not required if you have a strong track record of impactful projects. Excellent communication and collaboration skills: Comfortable collaborating with diverse teams across both the AI and open-source/blockchain ecosystems, as well as with academic researchers and industry practitioners. Passion for decentralized AI: Strong motivation to carve an alternative path for AI-one that is open source, censorship resistant, democratic, private, and secure. Ability to thrive in a distributed environment: Comfortable working in a fully remote, asynchronous organization across time zones. How We Work We work like an open applied research lab embedded in the Ethereum ecosystem. Most contributions are public by default, and we collaborate directly with academics, independent researchers, startups, and open-source communities. The culture rewards initiative, rigorous thinking, and a willingness to engage across disciplines. This role is ideal for someone who wants to shape the foundations of a new field, while staying close to both research and real-world applications. Other Details This is a full-time role. Our team is distributed globally and remote work from anywhere is possible-with most synchronous time from 2pm UTC onwards. Some travel to events (Devcon, Devconnect, AI × Ethereum workshops) is expected. Competitive compensation, flexible time-off.We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans. If you would like more information about how your data is processed, please contact us.

We are building AI to simulate the world through merging art and science. We believe that world models are at the frontier of progress in artificial intelligence. Language models alone won't solve the world's hardest problems - robotics, disease, scientific discovery. Real progress requires models that experience the world and learn from their mistakes, the same way that humans do. And this kind of trial and error can be massively accelerated when done in simulation, rather than in the real world. World models offer the most clear path to general-purpose simulation, changing how stories are told, how scientific progress is made and how the next frontiers of humanity are reached. Our team consists of creative, open minded, caring and ambitious people who are determined to change the world. We aspire to continuously build impossible things and our ability to do so relies on building an incredible team. If you are driven to do the same, we'd love to hear from you. About the role *Open to hiring remote across North America and Europe - we also have offices in NYC, San Francisco, Seattle, London, and Tel Aviv We're looking for Applied Research Scientists to help us develop cutting-edge computer vision and generative models to power our creative tools. We build AI that empowers. Our models are energy-efficient, cost-effective, and fully yours. Our ethos is open source. That means freedom, trust, and accountability are built into every line of code. We reinvest 3% of our profits back into the open-source community, because we believe tech is most powerful when it serves everyone. At our core, we value freedom, teamwork, accountability, and uncompromising quality. If you want to fight Goliath, and shape tools that set people free, OpenTeams is the place to do it. Location: U.S. Remote (Central Time Zone preferred) Company: OpenTeams - Leading Open-Source AI Solutions Provider Reports to: Head of Project Success The Role As we scale rapidly, OpenTeams is seeking a Technical Manager - AI/ML to support initiatives with major technology companies developing and advancing core deep learning frameworks and compilers. This role is not about traditional project management or orchestration-it's about being a technical collaborator. You'll work alongside OpenTeams engineers (who are contributing directly to frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, and TensorFlow), as well as client engineers and account leaders. Your focus will be to understand the design-level concepts, help capture requirements, and ensure alignment between technical execution and client needs. Think of it as bridging the gap between “the people designing the building” and “the people building it.” You won't be directing from the outside-you'll be partnering closely with the builders, helping to interpret, translate, and structure work so that both technical and business stakeholders stay aligned. Responsibilities Collaborate with engineers, clients, and account managers to understand technical goals and proactively address project needs. Participate in technical discussions with engineers and capture high-level requirements, risks, and tradeoffs. Provide structure and clarity: help teams maintain shared awareness of plans, priorities, and status. Build and maintain trust-based relationships with key client stakeholders at multiple organizational levels. Ensure alignment between technical deliverables and client objectives. Surface risks, challenges, and opportunities for expansion, renewal, or deeper collaboration. What We're Looking For Proven experience partnering with technical teams in a highly technical, customer-facing environment (e.g., project manager, technical lead, consultant, or equivalent). Strong foundational understanding of machine learning and deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX) with the ability to follow technical discussions and capture requirements. Experience supporting Fortune 50 or enterprise-level clients is a plus. Curiosity, adaptability, and the ability to quickly get up to speed on new technical concepts. Grow With Us At OpenTeams, growth isn't just about the company-it's about you. We believe the best careers are built at the edge of your potential. That is where new tools, ideas, and technologies change the world. Here, you'll work alongside pioneers of AI, solving problems that matter: making AI more transparent, more ethical, and more empowering. Opportunities aren't limited by geography. You'll collaborate with global experts, contribute to open source projects that power the world's technology, and stretch your skills daily. We invest in curiosity, creativity, and ownership. That means you'll be trusted to take big swings, supported to learn fast, and celebrated for bold thinking.
