General Responsibilities:
With program enrollment maximized in Energy Systems Technology the program has opened additional labs. This position will aid in lab safety, facilitation of student assistance and achievement of course outcomes. In addition, this position will participate in the development of additional educational trainers required to meet student needs in future quarters.
Essential Functions:
Lab Assistant
* Assisting students achieve success in the Lab setting, while ensuring appropriate, and safe operations of training equipment.
Lab Preventative Maintenance
* Inspecting and Maintaining lab training equipment to ensure operability, and safe conditions for students.
Lab Development
* Assembling and/or moving educational trainers, assisting in upgrades and ensuring enough trainers are available and operable for lab students, in addition to duties as assigned.
Lab Prep
* Preparing the educational lab environment prior to lab operations, including housekeeping, consumable accountability, and duties as assigned.
* Ability to recognize the value of cultural, ethnic, gender and other individual differences in people.

Required Qualifications:

This part-time temporary position (up to 17-hours per week) is located at the Walla Walla Campus.
Work is performed almost exclusively in a classroom and lab environment. Hazard of electric shock, lock out tagout, and overhead hazards. Trade tools, machinery and equipment will be utilized. Daily interactions with students and instructors.

Safety and Environment TechnicalSupport Consultant - GSSC Candidates shall work to support requirements for FY22-SB05 AMSE TechnicalSupport Swim Lanes and statement of work (SOW) while maintaining required qualifications with relevant Government, Public Sector and Infrastructure (Nuclear and Environmental) Sector experience (functional area experience also ideal). ProSidian Team Members (# FTe's: 1) work as part of the Engagement Team Cadre to provide Safety and Environment TechnicalSupport on behalf of The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) - Hanford Site, Richland Operations Office and Office of River Protection - Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP), Assistant Manager for Safety and Environment (AMSE) - Environmental Compliance Division (ECD).
This Safety and Environment Technical Consultant will assess and summarize weekly and monthly AMSE environmental compliance oversight activities and provide regulatory support to the ECD to start-up and commission the Direct Feed of Low-Activity Waste (DFLAW) facility. Additionally, The Safety and Environment Technical Consultant supports regulatory inspections at the Hanford site and assist DOE in responding to the regulators' inspection reports. The Safety and Environment Technical Consultant shall support the following scope activities:
Provide strategic solutions t --- emerging project challenges/risks such as ongoing maturation of the contractor's Air Operating and Dangerous Waste Programs and interfaces between all the site contractors and AMSE.
Complete critical assessments of the contractor's Air Operating and Dangerous Waste Programs as required t --- start-up and commission the DFLAW facility.
Coordinate environmental compliance oversight activities with DOE organizations and disciplines t --- ensure the necessary interfaces are in place.
'Perform environmental regulatory and programmatic reviews for adequacy and reliability; ensure compliance with established criteria and sound engineering principles; and identify omissions, discrepancies, inadequacies, and nonconformance with approved criteria.
Utilize project management skills t --- support ECD's ability t --- support the DFLAW integrated operational schedule; implement effective, environmental/regulatory risk mitigation strategies, assess cost and schedule impacts due t --- environmental non-compliance issues; and evaluate adequacy/implementability of procedures for implementing the approved permit conditions; and identify areas for improvements in the contractors' permit management, environmental compliance programs, and readiness activities.

Qualifications
The Safety and Environment TechnicalSupport Consultant - GSSC shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years, Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and related tools and technology required for the position.

Basic Qualifications

SupportSpecialists at Rod's House focus on providing a safe and stable environment for young adults to develop the skills needed to thrive independently. SupportSpecialists assist young adults (ages 18-24) experiencing homelessness and help guide them from temporary shelter to permanent housing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Relationship Building and Problem Solving
Engage with young adults to create a safe and supportive environment
Collaborate with case managers and program managers to meet needs
Connect young adults to community and on-site resources
Respond to and manage verbal, physical, or emotional conflicts
Prevent and de-escalate challenging situations
Maintain a professional and respectful approach
Safety and Cleanliness
Escort young adults to designated activities and meal times
Assist with housekeeping and maintain a clean, safe environment
Conduct fire watch with proper documentation
Complete closing duties to prepare sites for operations
Transport linens and order supplies as needed
Data Management
Participate in monthly program outcome reporting
Complete assigned data entry and maintain accurate records
General
Follow, update, and maintain standard operating procedures
Recommend improvements to policies and procedures
Provide general assistance as directed
Required or Preferred Education and/or Experience
At least 1 year experience working directly with young adults (ages 18-24) experiencing homelessness, OR 2 years of social services education (required)
High school diploma or equivalent (required) / bachelor's degree (preferred)
Strong problem-solving and communication skills (required)
Experience working with individuals who have experienced trauma (preferred)
Knowledge in human services, social work, education, or related field (preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be at least 21 years of age (required)
Pass Washington State and Federal (FBI) criminal background checks (required)
Valid driver's license and auto insurance (required)
Ability to work successfully with young adults in crisis
Professionalism, patience, and flexibility in high-stress environments
Ability to create systems and processes when needed
Strong verbal and written communication skills

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Shifts may include overnight, evening, early mornings, weekends, and holidays
Frequent interactions with young adults, community members, and service providers
Frequent walking, hearing, seeing, speaking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, climbing, and repetitive motions
Ability to lift, carry, pull, or move up to 50 pounds
Ability to safely drive a 14-passenger van preferred

POSITION PURPOSE
The Network Technician assists the Networking Manager in the operation and maintenance of the campus wireless and wired networks, card swipe, point-of-sale and the Zoom telephone systems. As a member of Whitman College Technology Services (WCTS), this position collaborates with other members of WCTS to provide an information technology environment that is consistent with the goals of Whitman College and meets the needs of faculty, staff, and students. The Network Technician reports to the Director of Technology Infrastructure.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Network & Wireless Infrastructure (50%)
Set up, install, and replace Wireless Access Points on campus, including new building installations, as well as, redeploying and expanding existing building installations where necessary.
Assist and serve as backup to the Network Manager in the setup and maintenance of related switches, fiber & copper connections, and other system & network hardware components.
Perform service calls related to wireless and network equipment, wiring and cabling.
Telecommunications & Access Control (40%)
Assist and serve as backup to the Network Manager in programming and maintaining the Zoom telephones and voice mail system. Includes coordinating and/or performing the installation, maintenance and repairs of telephone and network related equipment and cabling.
Assist and serve as backup to the Network Manager in the daily administration of the Card Swipe System, including adding, renewing, and disabling cards and access privileges.
Assists and serves as backup to the Network Manager in the daily administration of the Point-of-sale system. This includes working with the Cloud POS system and local POS hardware (cash registers, receipt printers, credit card processors and card readers)
Perform service calls related to telephone, voicemail and card swipe systems issues.
Inventory & Project Support (10%)
Monitor the inventory of spare parts and equipment to facilitate the quick repair of supported systems.
Perform other essential duties and implementation of projects as needed when bandwidth is available.
